The irony is when I was young, I couldn’t afford the sneakers I wanted. Now that I have a real job and can afford them, they’re near impossible to get because of bots, resellers and general hype for sneakers now 😐

Dude, thank you for bringing to light your views on the whole supply vs demand and reseller issue. I've been filing complaints to Nike corporate over why it's so difficult to land a pair of sneakers on the SNKRS app. I think more people need to demand that Nike do a better job of meeting demand if things are ever going to change.
They have the capability for preorders. They opened preorders for the original Nike Adapt BB, so everyone who wanted a pair initially had the chance to snag a pair.
They have more than enough resources to open up preorders for any given release. That would deincentivize scalpers and bots because they wouldn't be able to exploit the limited nature of a release if everyone who wanted a pair got one.
It would also put more profit in Nike's pockets and greatly increase sales. Imagine if everyone who wanted a pair of Travis Scott Dunks actually had the chance to buy them, and so on.
Profitability would explode.
💯 facts. But how can I file a complaint to Nike? just so we can annoy them more
I applaud you for even just filing complaints with them. Do they even reply? It wouldn't surprise me though if they didn't because they really don't care about us average consumers. You would think they'd have the foresight or common sense to manufacture more pairs of the highly coveted releases or collaborations, since they would surely sell out to a greater number of folks. It actually baffles me why they don't and insist on a very limited release. They could at least make their main online shopping site bot free. And snkrs??? What a joke of a website. I wouldn't be surprised if a bot user probably runs and manages that site
@@guccimane8941 I got the corporate number for Nike from a general customer service rep on the chat app on the Nike.com website. The number is 1-800-663-6453.
I told her that I'd love the opportunity to speak to a higher-up at Nike because perhaps if they spoke to a frustrated customer directly, then maybe they'd be more inclined to try to influence some change.
But when I called, I didn't get a higher up, I just got a corporate representative, but I guess that's better than a regular customer service person?
@@MrRoda8143 I spoke to someone at Nike corporate by phone. It was interesting that the corporate rep himself shared my frustrations because even Nike employees at the corporate office still have to get releases from the SNKRS app, lol. Nike doesn't even take care of their own workers when it comes to limited releases.
He essentially took notes on my complaints and my suggestions to utilize preorders from highly-coveted and limited releases.
I know they're not going to listen to me, but just MAYBE if enough people demand that Nike do a better job... Just maybe they'll change.
@@salmonteleone3520 that's interesting to hear, but really not surprised he said that. Pre-orders would definitely be a solution, and why Nike can't implement it is baffling. I don't mind if I'll wait for a couple months as long as I know I'm guaranteed to get my pair.

I was blessed enough to cop these manually via the undftd raffle, along with several other hyped releases manually. I'm giving a couple pairs of the Ws I got to my friends for retail, and I firmly believe the sneaker gods are finally rewarding me for my good karma by spreading the love as opposed to copping for resale. Keeping these Kobes for myself tho to display alongside Kobe's jerseys

I’m more interested in GRs, but the pack looked great and I APPRECIATE the material swap. The wreck-it-Ralph analogy is perfect...it absolutely is like that. It sucks coz I use to say that technology made buying sneakers you want so convenient and easy with the apps, but now it’s turned into a parody of itself. 🤷🏽♂️

I’m with you Chris. We most likely grew up in the old school so to speak. But yeah it’s sad that the people that really appreciate them & actually want to wear them will not pay over retail. But I encourage all who feel the same to stay the course. Hopefully things will change & we might be able to actually appreciate them one day. i had my entire family enter, including co-workers, total of 10 entries. 1 hit! definitely rocking these since i'm a kobe fan through and through, and especially since i did not get a W on anything else during Mamba week. Nike should have made at least one of the shoes GR like the holiday Jordan 11's

Both pairs look good but I am slightly leaning towards the white pair.When they do eventually turn yellow it will still be Kobe/Lakers themed.

Great social commentary on the retail companies. It's so so SO difficult getting the sneakers that we all like. Then seeing some dude on Marketplace have 14 pairs reselling sends me in a silent rage. Shame on them! I wish I could have got a pair of these 5's. Thanks WT dudes!

Ok some thoughts: my other major nerd hobby is Warhammer 40k (like little plastic miniatures that you paint) The last box set release sold out online GLOBALLY within 10mins mostly to resellers. Boxes were appearing on eBay for 3x the price before they were even shipped from the factory. There was uproar from fans who couldn't get a set. It was remedied by doing a Made To Order release. You put your name down and paid retail and they made it. You had to wait a bit, but you got it at retail....and the scalpers were buggered....😍
NECA (an action figure manufacturer) just did the same thing. Nike doesn’t care though. They’ve been dealing with resellers for decades and they have never done anything other than raise the retail prices of its products. The brand cares nothing for its consumers and just about the money.
The Kobe V is my favourite Kobe of all time, so awesome to hoop in. I have the OG colorway from the video. Kinda sad this Protro is so hard to get in any colorway for any fan of Kobe or his sneakers 😕

I got them. I'll be honest, though. I really wanted the ½ Big Stage and Girls EYBL colorways and from initial pictures thought this pack was half ugly. In person, the details shine and yes, I'll be playing in them. Hopefully I can handle the softness.
I got them but I had to sell away a lot of my collection to get the money to buy them. im a huge kobe fan and have a whole Kobe Bryant tattoo leg sleeve and im going to rock these until they fall apart.

Hey Chris. Speaking of calves, i had a slight tear in mine in February. Was in pain for about two wks. When it went away, the pain shifted to my heel right where the achilles is. Still reoccurs from time to time. Did the same thing happen to you?

These are the only ones I liked from mamba week (I need Bruce Lee’s and 5 rings colorsways) and I stuck out badly.... I was planning on wearing them if I won. I don’t hoop as much as I used too but I like wearing older basketball sneakers in my style. The multi color ones are just too beautiful

I've had zero luck trying to score ANY Kobe release this year and or last year. Pretty much got rid of all my OG Kobes except the 4's, 6's and both Adidas pairs (not the Audi joints)
