Obviously Alex does not have the "nut flush" draw if Mariano hits a straight flush in this situation. This isn't difficult. Why can't people figure out to stop saying "the nuts" when it's not even close to the nuts? This was extremely basic and easy so no excuses for misspeaking there. It's not that hard. Just pay attention. Come on announcers.

But, IN THIS CASE, it was THE "nut" of the flushes that was possible. There's a reason that the term "nut" is used in poker and you don't get to make excuses for why it is used incorrectly just because you want to talk about a type of hand against another type hand. We are not changing things just to make you feel better about being incorrect with how hands are ranked.
