I’m a credit analyst for a large credit union. The bonuses wouldn’t have anything to do with it. Your credit report doesn’t list what type of card you have and if a person is making a decision on the application they have so many to look at that they wouldn’t have the time to look up perks of competing cards even if the report showed what the card was.
Thanks for the comment. Yes it would be very difficult for a human to be making decisions in less than a minute on the internet, and you are right that the info provided on credit reports is pretty sparse. i did want to talk about it as an idea in the video, though, just in case anyone thought that could be the reason that Chase would give an approval beyond 5/24.
Has the Apple credit card shown up yet on your credit report? For example I know for Amex there can be a 1-2 month delay between approval and the account getting reported. How about showing us your Credit Karma account showing the 5 new accounts?
@@ProudMoney It's not that "easy" since it only helps you when you're 4/24 and applying to a bank that doesn't report new accounts quickly. And you know very well that applying for 8 cards in one day will likely be a catastrophe. People are skeptical because even though 5/24 is an unpublished rule, it's considered very well established. There are known exceptions, likely applying in person with a bank business manager and when Chase sends you a personal offer. But these are exceptions and well known to churners. So either you've made an amazing discovery, or you didn't realize there was this exception - a brief window after applying for the 5th card from a different bank in which you're still counted by Chase as 4/24 for a month or so.
Well, I'm not trying to teach churners how to get around 5/24, only saying that it is not necessarily a rule set in stone, and that maybe you can be over 5/24 if your behavior and credit history does not suggest churning behavior.
@@ProudMoney But that's the issue - of all the anti-churning rules, 5/24 is thought by the churning community to be one of the most fixed and straight forward rules. If you're at 5/24, you get a flat out denial - Chase won't even bother considering your application. I see a DP from another comment here talking about an approved Apple credit card from a month ago not being reported to the credit services yet. So mystery solved, unless you can show us your credit report/credit karma showing that it's already been reported.
ProudMoney - Credit Cards & Personal Finance I think your theory would only be plausible if you had went pending or had to call into recon. The fact this was an auto approval (by a computer) means you fit an algorithm. It would be pretty difficult, while not impossible, for chase to program so many variables into an auto approval. The more simple answer is your report showed 4/24 and the computer said ✔️
A delay on the report showing on your credit report isn't really a "loophole" It's just how the system works. It's the only way chase knows about your accounts at other banks and until it shows up on the credit report, which can take a month or two, there's no way chase can know about it
It's not hard to say why you got approved - 4:49 It's because your latest cards hadn't hit your report yet. That's the only way chase, or any bank, can know about your open accounts. Try it again in two months when the Apple card and the CSP show up on your credit report. Yes it means someone *could* apply for a bunch of cards one day then get "5/24" cards the next day but that's the loophole.
I got approved for 2 Chase cards in less than 2 weeks period even when I was well past 5/24. It says preapproved under the "just for you" section. 5/24 can be bypassed this way.
👍 everyone is soo anal when it’s comes to 5/24 Nothing is set in stone just like the when you log into chase and they sometimes have just for you offers. You pulled the plug went out and actually applied! Nice video and I have the CSP great card
My guess is you got the card because your new Apple Card isn’t on your Experian credit report yet. I understand they also looked at TransUnion and saw the inquiry for Apple but Chase doesn’t have a inquiry 5/24 rule they have a credit card 5/24 rule. That’s a big difference. Having an inquiry doesn’t mean you got a card. Just my 2 cents.
ProudMoney - Credit Cards & Personal Finance I’m sure Chase has thought about that and do have a number for inquiries that raise a red flag. I doubt 1 inquiry in 2 months would raise suspicions at all while your example of 8 in a day certainly would. Although I admit I’m just guessing here, obviously NONE of us know what happened. Either way congrats on doing it!
