John, Your graphics are at the top of the game. You did a great review - showed what this can do, and no Bear dogs were harmed. Looks like a great machine. Thanks for all of your time
Thanks David! My laptop is on fire rendering these videos. I spend more time, reviewing and re-editing for audio levels, and correcting errors. The build process for this and my last video were a bit long. However, I didn’t want to cut out that experience, when people can just skip it if needed.
I look at my video production from when I first stated, it is pretty comical 😂.
Yes no Bear dogs were harmed in the making of this video. I had to use treats for Bear to keep the glasses on. Must have taken about 2 dozen photos for this review to get a shot I liked.
Yes this laser engraver is very nice, it didn’t disappoint with it’s performance. Thanks again for watching and commenting my friend 👍
@@TripodsGarage Thanks for being my friend - I knew you before you were famous
Great video. Got to see my wife roll her eyes when I said I might need this one. 😊
Nice review, I love all the different unusual print surfaces
Fantastic tutorial, and production, John. 🔥
Curse you John!!! Been wanting a stand-alone laser for awhile now and this pushed me over the edge...lol. Well done as usual and have a great Thanksgiving!
Thanks Rich! It is nice to see some differences in these laser engravers. I was pleasantly surprised that this laser performed as well as it did. You can say having to tone down the power on everything is actually a good thing.
Have a nice Thanksgiving also bud!
Great video as always Tripod 👍🏻 looks like a well designed and constructed machine
in longer ray5 , how many millimeters is the length of the following profiles?
1 - x-axis frame profile
2 - left and right frame profile
3 - rear and front frame profile
Thank you for telling me the exact size of these profiles
Great video. So amusing! .... I am having problems. If I save a file into Lightburn it positions and frames in the middle of the bed perfectly. If I take out the SD card and put it into the Longer Ray5 it is in a totally different place and frames a much larger area. Any ideas? I'm pulling my hair out! Can't use my new laser until this is sorted.
I've heard rumors of using mustard on stainless.
I still believe either you got a 10W or I didn't get a dual w/ my Z1. Your speeds are more like what I had to run on my power scale not to destroy the sample square. Maybe the focus is so spot 🤡 on that the 5W is just that efficient.
The missing endstop switches are a real bummer. They don't add anything to the cost when purchased in volume. How is the height adjustment set? Allen screws?
Interesting you mentioned the mustard thing to engrave stainless steel. I actually tried that when doing my Comgrow review. Was an epic fail, I filmed it and everything, it didn’t make the cut.
This just seems to be more powerful than the Comgo. As I mentioned even with the literature provided by Longer, I had to tone everything down. I will need to do a comparison review after the garage is remodeled, so I can have the space.
I totally forgot to mention about the Allen keys needed to adjust the Z height. Thumb screws would be better.
I just set up my Longer ray5 and I keep getting an "enter sensor" message using LightBurn and LasrGRBL. Any idea why? Thanks
Now I am hungry for a steak!
First one to mention the food carvings 😂😂
