CAA would effect most in the N.E. states, for instance Tripura 70% in general occupied by Bangladesh Bengali, the land, Assembly, top to bottom occupied. So where would the native go ? The southern part of Assam,East Assam are mostly occupied by Bangladesh Bangali where the Britishers without the consent of the native. In short CAA should be drafted seperately for different regions, then CAA would be meaningful.

They don't have to bring NRC and all that, that will complicate the situation for minorities in india , Just give FC citizenship for local Hindus and SC Citizenship for expats( other religion ethnicity also LGBTQ people) along with equal rights to VOTE thatsall.
They should bring this rule in all politically Divided countries.

It is quite all right to talk about foundational identity of India. But partition of India on basis of religion is a reality, as is the persecution of people of non-majority religion is also a reality. So lets be realistic and not invoke great ideas from past now. Lets be practical.

Article 14, equality before law is not absolute. “Positive discrimination “ for a certain class is legal, otherwise reservation to SC/ST would not be legal. CAA is one such positive discrimination to certain class i.e; minorities in Islamic countries, hence perfectly legal. Please do not fall pray to fear mongering .

Why not, if it fulfils the criterion of “ intelligible differentia” as articulated in article 14 and the government of the day in their wisdom deem it fit and is carried by majority in both the Houses of Parliament. However,
It is not obligatory on the part of government to carry the burden of the entire world on their shoulders.

You cannot condemn an Act merely because of fear in people's mind. The day discrimination is done to insiders people should approach the SC with their grievance. I would support that definitely. But CAA can discriminate outsiders and that is not unconstitutional.

The lawyer says, "the finest victory was 1971 because we didn't discriminate who came into our country as refugees, hindus or Muslims". He considers this mass exodus as a victory to suit a certain narrative. 1971 was a tragedy, a year of bloodshed and almost a world war starting from the subcontinent. This lawyer's statements are outrageous and unacceptable. Refugees staying back as regular citizens is a major threat to demography... Does this incapable lawyer understand the repercussions of all those decisions in 71? Did he even check how non Muslims are treated in our neighborhood? People with such intelligence should not be invited for a debate. Disappointed.

This is rich class mentality. They don't understand how poor and middle class people live their lives in a day.
For example: Ola and zomato drivers don't even come through Muslim areas at night for fear of being murdered, beaten or picked on for a fight! Imagine car drivers are not safe in bangalore, this is because of huge influx of rowdy elements from Bangladesh... We can't change bangalore now, but atleast assam which is far worse than Bangalore.
I challenge this crappy lawyer to lose his car and security. Walk in Shivaji nagar for 5 minutes.
I'm a centrist, but certain narratives created by left leaning parties are just preposterous. Can't everyone use brains and avoid stupid emotions of religion, caste and region to make decisions? Oh well.
