It features a ton of bells and whistles, despite being marketed as a note taking centric unit.

As opposed to other ereaders, this one will receive plenty of updates and improvements from Huawei. The fact that you can browse the web, and even play videos, makes it appropriate even for following video tutorials. It's an improvement over my current Kobo Aura HD whose battery can't last more than a week (considering it's less capable than this one and I'm not even using for browsing, with wifi off) and whose screen i found not big enough for technical books, always needing to trim borders on pdfs to avoid constant zooming and panning. MatePad's screen seems to be the right size.

In Taobao, you can find some replace tips which made by metal, the shop names jqYMT, besides of Mpen, there is some other type which like for ApplePencil, or for Tabs pen. In my case, that metal tip is great, it's slim, precise, and high durability.
I think this can be a solution to the problem of the HUAWEI‘s original tip. Sorry for my poor English.

Does the built in epub reader app come with dictionaries?
I was pleasantly surprised when I bought a Kobo Nia last year to find that I can look up words on its built in Oxford English dictionaries (works offline), or on Wikipedia (needs wifi connection). The 6 inch screen on the Kobo however is too small (especially if I am using large fonts). The 10.3 inch screen on the Huawei looks great for reading. But if there is no built-in dictionaries on the internal reader app, then it will be necessary to install a 3rd party reader app that includes its own dictionaries.

Were you able to test the "Huawei Super Device" functionality to connect this tablet to other Huawei devices like computer and smartphone?
I someone in the comments of your previous video said that it could be possible to do Photoshop when this tablet is connected to a Windows Laptop.
Did photoshop work well on that e-reader?

@@infurness I just know that any Huawei devices can connect to each other seamlessly. Phone, Laptop, tablet, etc...
But for the PhotoShop part I'm not sure a brand can do it without the consent from Adobe who owns the software.
So, the Huawei tablet and laptop can be connected to use the former as an external screen, or as a writing/drawing screen for example.

Ok, pen with a Bluetooth full-time is a design failure and a sales killer. The last thing one needs is to look out for two parts of one device to be charge in order to write anything. I could even skip any other features - without a pen available 24/7 for my writing, this is just a fancy e-reader.

What a shame, the pen was a huge oversight and a deal breaker for me.
Proprietary, battery bound, unique, poorly designed, ugly, no EMR.
All that to make that cute but not needed eraser tap, I bet they dumped like $200k in R&D and patents everywhere to come up with that.
They are not dropping that investment soon. Is probably gonna be in their whole line up for a while until they realize is landfill garbage.
I don't even want to finish the video and see all the tech I am gonna miss because of that dumb pen.
I see 2 words plastered all over that tablet: Planned obsolescence.
    They wanna be like Apple.

I have seen it play video comparable to what boox does. Maybe because the setting is not manual process it didn’t register the video playback properly? But regardless I was hoping to see something about stylus annotation in WPS Office and testing Microsoft OneNote since this device has to compare against Boox.

Why would someone try to watch TH-cam videos on a device which is not atually intended to do this task? Use a tablet or computer to watch TH-cam videos. This is not a dealbreaker. Your concern is just like asking a "refrigirator" to do the job of a "washing machine". Come on dude!
