Great video! Looks like the tires and RoboSlugs really took this Capra to the next level. I appreciate the honest words about the product. Thank you Adam
Do you think front overdrive and rear underdrive portal gears will make a significant low end crawling difference? Something that is easy and cheap to help push bigger tires with a little less strain?
I've got the 1/18 Capra and I have a 20kg servo installed with stock electronics and the lights flicker a bit. I can't find a better ESC or motor in Canada 🤷 What kind of servo can I use with the stock ESC and motor says the ESC can do 7kg servo.
Great film work of the utb18 crawling 👌. Is it just me or do those anti-foams seem a firm for this weight of a rig? I feel like it would crawl better with a softer setup.
@@CapeCrawlers omg you're right I wasn't paying close enough attention and I bought the wrong set, they are the 4.75". I really like them too though. Do you know of any way to either increase the axle length or something so the bigger ones could be used as well?
Hi, super nice tips for mods! I just got my capra and have done some minor changes like adding some weight to the portals and some under the chassis to lower the central gravity. I saw the tips for the shock/spring collar here, and wonder; will it be beneficial to keep the collars, but maybe cut a ring or two off the spring? Would that do the same, performance wise? it feels better to have the collar there, so the spring isn't all over the place.
@@CapeCrawlers Thank you! I'll make an effort to cut the spring, but try to maintain the flat ring at the end, so it'll get seated nicely back in the collar .
In the shocks you can do the same mod for the 1/10 Capra pen spring mod, make LCG and don't allow the Capra to rise the body, force the tire to have more contact on the ground, the only downside take time is wordy the try, I do that some of my rigs TRX4, Gen 7
Not really. I added new RCAWD shocks, but they're not much longer (if at all) than stock. I'm waiting for some more shock options to appear, or chassis mods.
@@CapeCrawlers shoot there are all kinds of 1/10 shocks im gonna try like 100 mm on the spder chassis hopefully i can get it to work do you know how long the oem shocks are?

My dad's 1/10 Capra has his springs off the front & springs on the back, just to see if it helps when climbing. Maybe see how it performs without the springs? 🤷🏼♂️
i legit just tested this nice rig. dont like that the rear shock adjustments rub on the rear frame.(to be remedied) interested in some snow trail footage of this? happy to share if you want to edit out some clips.
Other than the shock adjustments what did you think? Thank you for the offer but I am going to have plenty of snow footage up here in New England soon!
Smooth and capable and tough enough to flop it. Good call on the lower retainer removal for a lower cog too. i agree on the rounder tire choice for crawling, like iroks. might need more weight on the axles to get the big ones folding to the terrain proportionally.
Hello, everything is great, and ask me which of these two you would buy if it were you, the Axial RC Truck 1/18 UTB18 Capra 4 Wheel Drive Unlimited Trail Buggy RTR Gray AXI01002T2 Trucks Electric RTR Other or the Axial 1/24 AX24 XC-1 4WS Crawler Brushed RTR,

Perfect upgrades Adam, tires do look alot better. You should have an awesome time with that rig now. I like the mod for the shocks, gonna have to try it on my 1/10 scale rigs . Great video brother
Nice! Very similar to mine so far! I got the same style wheel in red (leftovers) with Jconcepts Tusk 1.9 Scale Contry tires (around 3.96"). Working on getting the !stock foams right for now... Great video, as always! What's your final opinion on the Roboslugs on the 1/18 Capra? Is the softest compound soft enough for this rig? I am on the fence about ordering a set. Thanks!
Thanks! I think the roboslugs are too stiff for the UTB18, even in the softest compound. I tried Flubberstufferz slymeballz too and still feel like they’re too stiff. I think soft foam is the way to go with the mini capra unless you add a bunch of weight to it
When I said furitek I micro Komodo but you would have to have a transmission sort of like the FMS ft x 24 that dang I promise you and second gear which is high gear it's so lightning-fast you can spend it in Donuts like crazy but then on the low in is so amazing awesome honestly I'm tired in between in the Revenge of pancake by mofo they're both so good I think maybe the Revenge of pancake as a little bit better bottom in
I'd like to see a two speed with a super low first gear for crawling, then a higher speed gear. The UTB18 even with the brushless setup is still pretty jumpy
you have to be verry careful with this servo. the car waits less than 1 kg. doing wrong it wil instantly break your axle. I have the same car and 15KG is more than enough.

that torn up asphalt was such a good spot, i want to take all my rigs there
It’s an epic spot. And it’s cool because it’s always changing as they work in there. The sharp edged obstacles make it really challenging too
I love the look of this. Could you please give the part numbers for the wheel and tires. I've been searching but can't quite find the right ones.
The size does not matter, if not the mechanics, how it behaves on the rocks, I am deciding on one of the two, thank you
