Its been that way for years...especial the private schools and prep schools.
Imagine if Texas did it, although it does happen in Texas, it's just not open well received. My sons just finished his Jr year and this past summer he has been contacted by a few times (Dads and Players) If a coach got caught, well they lose their job. They do that all the time. Prep school, private schools always recruit inner city kids. It’s rare that a great athlete attend a public school, some loose out because they didn’t go to private schools or prep schools.

That's what Calabasas did starting with their previous coach, former Tenessee QB, Casey Clausen. he recruited the hell out of L.A. to get the school from some D10 scrub division all the way to D2.
They're a good D2 team. But JSerra is a perennial 2nd round D1 playoff loser and a 3rd place or worse Trinity League team and they waxed Calabasas.
They have a long way to go to even begin to compete with the best in So Cal

Define “poor” because I live in the valley and commute out there often. That area in general is rather affluent compared to us say the rest of the US... rich kids with parents sounds about right. Unless those kids come from inner city LA..just my opinion

Not sure why everyone hating this team. They never said they was the top team nor have rich parents or dominate. The title simply says recruiting 3 top flight receivers. People need to read and comprehend smh.
JSerra is a fringe national Top 25 team, but a 3rd place Trinity and likely D1 quarterfinal loser.
Calabasas is likely a D2 semi-finalist at least.
That's how big the gap between D1 and D2

They just made the D1 Playoffs and has to knock off Oaks Christian to do so. Also, although the recruits like Johnny Wilson are one of a kind, but we also have a bunch of local 3+ star players including Jaden Casey, Larry Turner-Golden, Esai Martinez, Ruben Valenzuela, Myles Coleman, Jayden King, and Jaelyn Blizzard. Don’t get me wrong,
Don’t get me wrong, on the 15 th against SJB, we probably will lose. But after an 8-2 season in a tough division, I think they will go out with a bang. And with consistently promising seasons in baseball, basketball, and individual sports, Calabasas has a fundamental but totally lit way to create a legacy for themselves in sports. It recruiting and attracting the best talent. In a state where the football competition is the best. Only the strong survive. All you out of state folks. Just bring it.

Not only do they recruit, they give the the recruited players benefits. No matter how much they deny, I’ve known these kids, sometimes they have a sponsor family who houses them cuz they could be from another state, they get a sick car like an m3, spending money for days, that’s what happens

My dad is very greatful for the time that he had at Calabases. I loved attending the games and being in his office. I love these videos, and I see my dad as a great role model for me and my younger sister. Eric has done so much for us over the years. His son is adorable and I can’t wait to see them again. Though, we can’t stay in high school forever. My dad went on to coach USC, and now at ASU. Johnny is my favorite person on earth. He’s such a sweetheart and also went on to ASU. He left for Florida State. Micah.. I have no words for him. Such a good kid and has so much energy. He cheers you up. Jermaine is also amazing. I wish a great future for all of us. Calabasas is a Div 2 team. They play their first Div1 schedule this year 2019 but will still be a Div 2 playoff team if they qualify. That's why the changes and build up in 2018. If they do well this year 2019 you will see them in Div 1 playoffs 2020 also. If they don't do well they will move them back to Div 2.

Burton went to play in Cali because the state of Ga wouldn’t let him play this year. The rules down here are different even though he is from here. He went and played with IMG his sophomore year and tried to come back for his junior year.
Lmao my team played these guys this year, my team was supposed to have a bye week but then our coach wanted to play these guys so we did but for whatever reason we played like half of there team as varsity players and my team were all freshman, they were huge and the refs were dumb they missed so many calls. We got whooped but hey we did better than Westlake did playing these guys

Call me bias but I don’t think most rich kids are hungry for football success, are not super aggressive, and are not trying to hit or get hit. Pittman is a beast, the recruited guys are also beasts. No hate just my opinion.
Too much fame/hype for kids this age in the States.
Rather than getting any education, they put all their stock into football with the minuscule hope that they get an NFL contract (which still is no guarantee).
