I feel so cheated because I didn’t grow up completely enjoying the Bee Gee’s. I really started listening to them a couple of years ago because I think my mama asked me to play every single song by them the last few months before she passed. Without her knowing it. She made me a huge fan. I requested this one…FOREVER AGO!!!! This is so good. I honestly believe this is one of his best songs ever. ❤️Robin Gibb❤️
My kids became Bee Gees fans because I played them the whole time they were growing up. It’s lovely you share a love of The Bee Gees music with your mother now, just another piece of her heart to keep forever.

Thanks a lot Chad, this song is superb, vocals, harmonies, lyrics, all in all Robin is so unique. The three albums from this era are fantastic and each one so different than the others, great if you dig in those a little bit more, also Magnet and 50 SCD, haha, in summary everything. As far as I know Barry helped in writing almost the whole album but not this track, for which I would assume the harmonies are only Mo and Rob.

I love so many of Robin's solo endeavors. He would try to tackle any style. His early LP's "Robin's Reign" and "Sing slowly sisters" were so eclectic. Not mainstream but very innovative and ahead of their time. My favorite LP's are "How old are you" and his posthumous LP "50 St Catherine's Drive". I don't think Barry was involved in the backing as he was working with other artists at the time but can't swear to it. Mo likely was. Rob was very popular in Europe.
Featuring 4 videos on this weekend is so greatly appreciated. These songs provoke lots of thought into what makes the Bee Gees so special. Is it the music, the lyrics, the arrangement or the combination of everything. Irregardless you can feel the passion they place in their musical creations. We are on the same page Lilly, I had also asked to feature the three brothers separately. Fil also has two old videos, 'I Can't See Nobody' and 'To Love Somebody' in case you haven't seen them.
That was just lovely. Wow, I don't remember it very well; not much play here, but I am loving it. One of Mo's contributions on this track is the piano. He is playing a real piano, not keyboards like we picture in their later work. Mo's piano gives me the feeling of his work in the early 70's, but on a very 80's track. I'm not sure about the backing vocals on this specific song. Mo did others on the album. All three brothers were on "Toys." I believe it was the first time they had all sung on a recording for awhile after "Living Eyes." Barry also co-wrote several of the album cuts. I love that they all had a part in the collaboration to support their brother.

Bee Gees has always been the best band of all times in my opinion. I fell in love with Barry the very first time I saw them on TV. Both his voice and his looks. I'm still in love with him, though 20 years younger, and my biggest wishes is for him to come to Denmark. Robins voice is also amazing and beautiful, I just noticed that later.
I've loved the Bee Gees since they first came about, but I would love for you to travel down another deep & incredible "rabbit hole" with THE most amazing a cappella group, Home Free! You don't know what you're missing! Thank you! 😊

I assume he went out of the way to let Robin finish albums the way he wanted them to be. He also never sang on Robin's albums, except on this album. Barry did the backing vocals on the song 'Toys'. If you haven't heard it, I think you should have a try!
Actually Barry only helped write two songs on Secret Agent. The most Barry participated in Robin’s albums was Walls Have Eyes, so it is the exception. Rob and Mo would work on Robin’s stuff while Barry was busy working with other artists. Walls Have Eyes was the three coming back together and led into the next Bee Gees LP, ESP.
Aww the highly successful Gibb/Galuten/Richardson production team with Bee Gees written songs and Barry's backing vocals and/or duets.Those paid the bills during those disco backlash years! I could never understand that whole ignorant time period!!!
I didn't know about this song until recently and just started listening to it. It's an instant favorite already along with How Old Are You?, Another Lonely Night In New York, and Juliet. I'm currently working on listening to every song the Bee Gees did as well as Robin's music.
Other than the songs mostly being ballads, there wasn't much of a consistent theme on Walls Have Eyes. There is You Don’t Say Us Anymore, a slightly dance themed track which you should hear, Someone To Believe In which is a rock number that you should also hear, and much more variety amongst the tracks. Robin really stepped into different territories. Secret Agent was consistent dance numbers and How Old Are You? was consistent Europop
I like this one. I'll have to losten to this album. The only Album I've really listened to and love every song is the Magnet album Have a great week all
Perfect choice to finish the marathon, Chad. When I play soloalbums of Robin on my cd-player or even on the turntable, I always turn up the bass and go down with the heights, just about 2-3 lines of the scale. Brings in a brighter sound to my ears. Overall, I'm one out of many, more loving Bee Gees productions with all three of them onboard. That's because of 100 % of depth, more variability in singing and songwriting and brilliant musicians. Again, don't get me wrong, the real magic was their unision!
I finally bought this CD. (I say finally because it took extensive endurance training to make those 3 clicks on Amazon to buy it after thinking " I should buy "These Walls Have Eyes" for months.) It's a very enjoyable listen, quite different from "Robin's Reign" and "Sing Slowly Sisters" but Robin can do no wrong with that voice. Very sexy feel to most of the songs too so good background music for when my gentleman friend comes over. (Yes, despite what my TH-cam comments might tend to indicate, I actually have a little romance in my life beyond Robin Gibb fantasies.) As to the background vocals, they are credited in the liner notes to the " G twins". Barry also sings on another track called "Toys." ETA: I understated things quite a bit when I said "an enjoyable listen." It's all I've played in my car for two weeks and it's just fantastic, every track. Robin really rocks out at times and he sounds great.
Thanks a lot! Love all the tracks of the whole album although a little bit less "Remedy" and "Do you love her" whose arrangements would have won by being a little more impactful. Walls have eyes is my fav Robin's album cause it is brilliantly versatile. "Gone with the wind" is mesmerizing: love the melody, the arrangements with the Queenesque guitar solo set and Robin's falsetto parts.

"Walls Have Eyes" is his best solo album IMO. The songs, music and especially his vocals were much better than his previous efforts. Robin had no solo identity in America and considering the view towards the Bee Gees in the 80's, there was no way this could have been a hit.

Why was this not a hit? Why were singles off this not released in the UK? It is a mystery as 'Joke' was released here written by Robin but sung by someone else. How could we make it No.1 for Robin and the BeeGee's when the only credit given was writting. The UK lost out a lot on singles.
