  • This is the history of windsurfing as we know it. These are the legends of wind.
Welcome to our journey through the history of windsurfing, one of the most fascinating sports ever created. Told by the legends that rode the wind and waters of yesterday, our tale comes in four waves. The first wave follows the rise of the invention through the sunset of the Windsurfer One Design era. From the early pioneer's vault of never before released footage. Footage contributions from the libraries of Dobri Kiprov, Newman Darby, Paul Hengstebeck, Walter Beek, Ted Schweitzer and more.

"Basically at the beginning, the entire world could windsurf, and by the "end" nobody could." ~Trip Foreman~ But, I'm a "goat boater" on my old longboard, and I'm here to say, there has been a longboard revival. The classic longboard is coming back with a vengeance! Let's go back to the days when you could have fun sailing anywhere, at any time. Back to the days when windsurfing was the fastest-growing watersport! Back to the days when tens of thousands of women windsurfed! It was heaven...

Great Video! So proud to know that Jim Drake is the true inventor, and Hoyle the true capitalist...
