The Aleppo Codex Mystery: How Adonai’s name was found

  • The Aleppo Codex is the most accurate copy of the Bible in existence. It was written in 924 by Aaron ben Moses ben Asher. To this day, when they want to print a Bible in Hebrew they base it on the Aleppo Codex. Nehemia Gordon’s (Hebrew Scholar) job was to match the new copies of the Bibles in Hebrew to the Aleppo Codex in accuracy. After years of working with the Aleppo Codex, Nehemia finally found the vowel points that we needed to be able to pronounce the name of God.
Join Michael Rood and Nehemia Gordon as they search the Aleppo Codex for the vowel points that help us pronounce the name of our Creator.
And, hear from our future guest, Bruce Malone, on creation. How can dinosaur skin survive millions of years and why have we found dinosaur remains with skin and tissue still intact? Are dinosaurs millions of years old?

This has blessed me. I would much rather call upon my God Yahovah then just "the Lord" , it makes things more personal. What I don't understand is why the conspiracy to hide the name Yahovah? Isn't the creator of the universe capable of defending Himself. All this time for centuries until this very moment nobody knew, although it was close with jehovah but not quite. However, just because those that didn't know His name didn't sentence them to death for Yahovah knows the hearts of men and He created the languages around the world. Those that came to be saved including Michael Rood, knew only God and Jesus so as not to put down those haven't heard this message not to beat people over the head just because they only know what is written. This serves to increase faith.

Yes, it is indeed "YE" as in YEH. The vowel is a Shvah (aka Sheva) which causes an "eh" sound. Shalom to you both!

I have been enjoying this series immensely! Thank you for proclaiming the Divine and Holy Name of the Almighty Father! Just one thing... at the beginning of part 5 Michael mentioned "the Scriptures the Gentiles wrote" and I thought, 'wait, the Gentiles did not write any Scriptures'. The 4 gospels and the letters and the Revelation were all written by the Jews.

Wow! I always assumed that the holy name was Yahwe or Yahuwa.
But that's pretty clear and it's amazing!! ... though a few questions remain unanswered.
Why is the ending "yahu" so common in Hebrew names? Where does the "hu" come from? When translated, it is clearly part of the abbreviation for the name of God !?

I have been searching, without success, to find other examples in other Hebrew words where the letter "vav" functions as a vowel to the letter that precedes it, and stands alone as a consonant at the same time with a second vowel mark beneath it. The only time I have seen the "vav" appear in this format is in the Sacred Name. I have been told that for the name to read "Yehovah" the kamatz would have to be placed under the final Hey? Can you help me understand this Hebraic grammatical rule?

Fascinating video. So blessed to have watched this. So how is the closest way to spell the Divine Name in English? I think I was hearing Yih-ho-VAH rather than Yehovah or Jehovah. It actually sounded rather close to the Spanish pronunciation spelled Jehováh and pronounced Hay-o-VAH. I would love to see an accent mark even in the English spelling to show us to accent the last syllable most heavily.
    Thanks so much.

in the spanish bible we know God as Jehová at least since the first translation to the language in 1569, and we know that Yeshua, Jesus is Jehová incarnated, slain and resurrected and we are and perform all that we are and do, in His name and His authority, the son of man, yet fully God

It clearly was in the so called New Testament. There is much evidence that it has been removed in most modern Translations. If you look at the video the Nehemiah does about the Divine Name he says that there is clear evidence that Matthew wrote his Gospel in Hebrew then possibly translated it himself or it was by someone. Matthew quotes extensively from the Hebrew scriptures to prove, to his Jewish readers, that Jesus is Jehovah's son and the Messiah. Note Matthew 3:3 as just one example. Luke's account tells us that Jesus read from the scroll of Isaiah on the Sabbath day according to the custom of the time. He read in Hebrew as this is the scrolls that were used in Jerusalem in the synagogue. Jesus said: "Yehovah's spirit is upon me." Would Jesus follow a superstition of not pronouncing God's name? He condemned the religious leaders of his day for the traditions they made that invalidated God's word. There is no doubt Jesus used the Divine Name! Even the Jewish Talmud says that Jesus used God's name and condemns him for it. Why would Jesus enemies say he used The Divine Name? Not only that there are some modern Translations that use the Divine Name. Just do a search on Google "Names if God in the New Testament" and you will see the evidence from the Bible, the early church fathers and even Jewish sources state that the early manuscripts contained God's name Yehovah. The oldest translations in English use Jehovah. Just as Jesus or any of the Hebrew names change when pronounced in English, so too We use Jehovah because this is the oldest and most used in English. Jehovah is the Anglicised name of God. Why would we leave all of the names of the false gods in the Bible, even though the way we say it is not the way it was pronounced by their worshipers? Just looking up Moloch. It can be Molech, Milcom or even Malcam. Just because we don't know how to pronounce this demonic god"s name doesn't stop people from leaving it in the Bible, yet many remove Jehovah for various reasons. It is clearly a sin and changing the Bible, not just mistranslation. Jehovah is God's name and Jehovah's Witnesses have been declaring it for over one hundred years. All the nations will know God's name. In my native language it is Yehovah. In Arabic it is Yahowah. Names change according to language but God"s name must be declared none the less. Romans 10: 13 Paul quotes Joel 2:32; "Everyone who calls on the name of Jehovah will be saved."
