The colour of hydrangea is determined by the soil - down in Cornwall they tend to be blue but further north, pink (for the most common type) so if there is something in the soil where you were detectering (is that a word 🤔?) it could have altered the colour

I then triangulated the fuck out of things with that knowledge and ended up on Tom's gaming channel (because he wasn't yet exclusively posting vlog content on SyndicateCentral yet) and his video for E3 is called "IT WAS AMAZING!" from June 23, 2015. As I saw in another comment here, there was a video from New York like you had mentioned called "REUNITED WITH MY VLOGGING HERO!" (May 7, 2016) that I had also found, but given the verbiage in the title and in how you referred to him before meeting with him, it definitely seemed like it wasn't a first time meeting, so I dug further and voila!
