Since 1999 Debbie Roos has been an Agriculture Agent for the Chatham County Center of North Carolina Cooperative Extension (we say the best extension agent in the world!!) where she is responsible for programming in the areas of commercial vegetable production, organic production, pollinator conservation, alternative agricultural enterprises, forestry, and beekeeping. Debbie is passionate about pollinator conservation and has planted demonstration habitats and developed resources to teach others about the importance of bees and other Native thistles provide tremendously valuable resources for lots of bees and other pollinators.

Thank you so much for this very informative presentation. I am trying to create a permaculture food forest on my property, in Hays N.C.. I intend to plant many native plants in my garden, in order to attract a variety of wildlife; both for the garden’s benefit and for the local insects and fauna.
I hope to visit the your garden, in Pittsboro, soon. 👍

I’m in Canada. Do you know if there’s a similar database of resources in Canada? Thank you Debbie Roos. I like your passion with native plants. Such a wealth of knowledge and well presented.

Going to winter show this winter, where did you buy your seeds from? It's a little challenging to find specific natives.
