I agree but also he showed an understanding of cat "body language" and could tell which ones were calm and which were ... as the millennials say... sketchy. :)
For long term we always had better luck keeping cats around if we got them fixed. We found that if they had the sex drive they ran off to find a mate and make babies. Also they were less territorial and would allow whatever strays to wander in and stay. So we would have a crazy roller coaster of no cats or too many. When we got them fixed they chased off the strays and focused on hunting. Only problem is when they get old and die they didn’t replace themselves.
Nice group of Tom cats. They were scared because they didn’t know you. However they are very tame. Have your kids come play with them every day & they will be even tamer. Tom cats can be hard to keep around if there are no females. They will go searching for females from time to time.
Are you kidding ? ....... get his small children near wild cats for crying out loud, adults stand no chance if a cat lashes out and scratches badly let alone a little child .......
Hey Tyler, we have a big guy here, a snake guy. He removed over 300 snakes from our town this year. He supposedly releases them somewhere. Anyway, the rodent population picked up.
Tyler, The cats are going to be wonderful! I love how smoothly you go through your processes. On camera, it appears seamless (except the occasional cow collisions with the GoPro 😂) Also I really love to see the cows with a pep in their step going to get the fresh hay, just lolly-gagging about . . . Too cute. All’s well on FTR! Thanks for sharing your days with us 🐾🐕🐈⬛🐂🐓🐖🐾
Merry Christmas. Good to see you finally got cats. Now make them a house in the back of the barn. Just the smell of cats will help keep rodents away. They need a house type structure not just hay. Food and water. hopefully this will keep you from messing with other things. Love this series. My thoughts Bunny
Prayers and blessings to you and family Farmer T. Watching from Texas and enjoying the rain. Thank you for putting up a video. Hope that you and family are ready for end of year celebrations and carrying into the new year. Stay safe, strong, discerning, healthy and successful in Jesus's Name ☝🙏🙌💪❤🎯💯% Wishing you & family a Merry Christmas and a happy prosperous new year.
Your sense of humor 😂😂😂 Love the barn cats. And your steers look great. I empathize with all the rain you’re having to deal with, it makes it so sloppy for all, even the cats. But better chance of them staying there and deciding it’s home since they won’t want to be out in the mud. Thanks for sharing. ❤❤❤
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Everyone!!! Very happy that you got barn cats. 😁 YAY!!! 😃 Very exciting! Really looking forward to hearing more about them. Maybe in the summer when there are no more bails of hay, you can put something out for them to sleep in. Maybe that’s why the others left, there was no where to stay. It’s not like a barn with a loft. They seem to like to have a place to hide. I think the gate is a really good idea. It will make it a lot easier on you to get work done.
Those cats look good! They will soon settle in and take care of those mice. I think that having them taken care of might be good idea. They will stay home and not wander away. Unless you want to keep a couple to grow your cat population!! 😂 I couldn't handle having mice in the garage or in my house for that matter. They give me the creeps!! Maybe your wife and kids need a house cat too. Lol Very good video Tyler. Your metal gate is going to look good! Smart idea. I love the rain! 💦 I love the clean smell of rain! 💦💦
Read through the comments after watching, people all mean the best but there is different opinions. But thats OK, I watch my children and now grown grandchildren and try to let them be them. My crystal ball broke a long while ago. Really enjoy your videos brings back wonderful memories.
Hello , you are getting a lot of rain . What kind of cows do you have . ?? Love your barn cat tribe . Hope that goes well .all very handsome . A friend long ago grew up on a farm she counted 45 cats and kittens of all size one summer .she said by the end of the summer there was just about fifteen . She said that a lot was taken by hawks and other birds of pray and died by natural cause .carts have always been part of farms for a reason . That scene of your cattle munching away really cute . Thankyou for sharing .
Looking forward to seeing the cats off and on. Having some mice problems here in south Texas. Actually had one get free from a sticky pad so there's a bald mouse running around somewhere.
Third time was the charm, except the gas was shut off. So good to see you found some cats. Gate project will look awesome, I'm sure. So much water, but know it will be helpful. Have an amazing day.
Dude you have all this fancy equipment and like 5 tractors, etc. My grandfather tried his hardest to be a full time farmer, but never could and always needed another job to make ends meet
Merry Christmas, FTR. I'm happy to see you found some cats .now you need to make them a place of security in the barn because when the hay is gone they will need a place that is up high. and safe from predators because you just put five coyote snacks in your barn .as a responsible pet owner, you will need to get them their shots, especially rabies, unless the previous owner took care of that .thank you for giving them a god home good luck and God bless
When I was stationed in 29 Palms we put out milk every night for the cats, only milk. The cats got their own solid food (lizard) or they moved on. The hunters stayed for the milk. Cat candy I guess.
Tylerisms This could be a problem. Let me refresh yor memory. It may have been fast for you, but on my end of the camera that took a wihile. There is no turning back now. These last two are giving me stink eye. Just let them do their thing.
LMAO My Daughter has a way with animals. When she was about 12 she brought a barn cat from the farm next door. She carried it like a baby all the way home. I tried to pat it and it went beserk. Bit me and scratched my arm bad, and than ran off. My daughter looked at me and went great the cat likely will not come back as I stood there bleeding.
I wish you could get more gravel for your roads and trails to help with the mud. Oh and good job listening to your conscience because I did not listen to mine the other day and now my mother's ceramic Christmas tree has been most likely crushed by the ceiling that fell in the room I had it sitting on the bed. :(
Please look after the cats. (By the way, kittens are taught to “mouse” from their mothers-therefore, some do not know how to mouse.) If they are good mousers, they will need frequent de-worming. And, are they neutered?😊
It must be the year of the rodent. We have lived in our house for 40 years and have never had a problem with mice. This year we have trapped nine so far. I hate the little bastards. Good luck with your kitties. I've always heard a well fed cat will catch more mice than a starving one. Maybe you need a female cat to keep all them toms on the place.
Theres a new product (not cheap though) birth control bait for rat and mice from Senestech. Their product is for the ones the cats (or traps) don't get. I started using it in 2024 and it helps me. I get nothing for saying this, not even a small discount. I tried cornmeal baking soda, and that didn't work for the same reason as you...better food is available. The senstech sausage shaped baits, they seem to love.
The Boys (Steers) and pasture cows are indicating they are hungry...please feed me! Great work on the fence/gate project. Hopefully, the cat vs. rodent situation will work in your favor.
Interesting, Idle thought of the day - i just noticed that the steers at the steer paddock are all black. Rivet seems to throw lighter coloured calves, so does that mean he also tends to throw heifers?
Theyre gorgeous cats very healthy ,give them time to adjust as they look really freaked out . *Also if you used decon previously , and cats eat them, it can be lethal to the cat. Hope you didnt use it previously.
You've got gutts reaching into a kennel full of 5 feral barn cats. 😂
I agree but also he showed an understanding of cat "body language" and could tell which ones were calm and which were ... as the millennials say... sketchy. :)

Wonderful video, so glad you got your cats 😊😊😊😊xx
Hope you are feeling better soon. You sounded a little stuffed up in the nose.
Can't wait to see what names the kids give the cats.
I'm pretty sleepy so I wasn't due if I was just hearing wrong, but I thought so too!
Nice healthy looking cats, hopefully Callie likes them!
No chance of starting a fire welding today. Nice new barncats. 👍🐈🐈⬛🐈🐈⬛🐈

There are literally millions of homeless cats. It's always best to fix them.
Nice group of Tom cats. They were scared because they didn’t know you. However they are very tame. Have your kids come play with them every day & they will be even tamer. Tom cats can be hard to keep around if there are no females. They will go searching for females from time to time.

Awesome you got some new barn cats.
I loved hearing you shout words of encouragement to the Ford tractor as it was starting. I would do the same thing.
Always enjoy your videos, thanks

Good luck with those cats!
When you said,”There’s no turning back now”. I was thinking it! So to me it was a moment. 🙏❤️ Not stupid.
You sound like you are sick again. I admire your ability to make anything.
I noticed the stuff nose too.😊
6:24 😂 that wasn’t stupid!! You are right!! LOL those are some pretty barn cats! ❤ huge , fluffy tails💕
We found it funny that two of the cats seemed to be content to stay in the crate!
Prayers and blessings to you and family Farmer T. Watching from Texas and enjoying the rain. Thank you for putting up a video. I really admire and respect your ability to make anything you need on that farm. You're very talented in many areas.
Your sense of humor 😂😂😂 Love the barn cats. And your steers look great. I empathize with all the rain you’re having to deal with, it makes it so sloppy for all, even the cats. Thanks for sharing farmer Tyler ranch I enjoyed the video

Nice, less mice. Merry Christmas!
Hey, I thought your comment, "There's no turning back now!" was funny. : )
beautiful kitties! they'll have a great time being good mousers!
So glad to go with you today.
Glad you got the cats! We've had good luck with ours over the years. A lot of setting water, its that time of the year. Good post FTR!
Take care of that cold
Read through the comments after watching, people all mean the best but there is different opinions. But thats OK, I watch my children and now grown grandchildren and try to let them be them. My crystal ball broke a long while ago. Really enjoy your videos brings back wonderful memories.
When you started that tractor, I was saying, “come on, you can do it” with you!
Take care, you sound like a bit having the flu. And thank you for the great video with a lot of livestock again;) 😊
Great video the new barn cats look great hopefully they stick around especially if they’ve been spayed that will make them stay and not wander

At least they are tomcats.
Always, always something that needs to be done.
The cattle stood in perfect order from scrawny to square.
Beautiful cats, expecially the big striped one. 👍👍💯👍👍
Looking forward to seeing the cats off and on. Having some mice problems here in south Texas. Actually had one get free from a sticky pad so there's a bald mouse running around somewhere.
Hope you feel better soon!
Water - Water everywhere - Tks for your videos Tyler!!!
It’s always nice to see you wearing the clothes and equipment to keep you safe while you’re working
Another cool video!
Third time was the charm, except the gas was shut off.
So good to see you found some cats.
Gate project will look awesome, I'm sure.
So much water, but know it will be helpful.
Have an amazing day.
MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY
Maybe take the friendliest cat home to be a mouser in your home?... Wonder what happened to the other cats you've had. They always seem to disapear...
Dude you have all this fancy equipment and like 5 tractors, etc. My grandfather tried his hardest to be a full time farmer, but never could and always needed another job to make ends meet
TH-cam helps
Big cats!!
Good morning thanks for the video
Just a though - rat snakes (corn snakes) eat a lot of rodents. Great to have around farms.
Merry Christmas, FTR. You sound better now.
No fire starting today!
Those kitties are so mad😂
I went to work last night and there was three little kittens in the parking lot. Someone probably threw them away since we're by the country side.
Thanks 😊
Marry Christmas to your family
You need to make a short with you saying "There's no turning back now.....That was stupid"🤣 Definite meme material. Keep up the great work.
Very nice steers. Oh by the way could you send some of the rain to southeast New Mexico?? Our rain fall is less than 4 inches this year.
Man NM never changes does it?
Bad winter coming!!!!
Hi good morning Tyler from Indiana
Tyler, you might wanna try some canned cat food for a couple of weeks. It is a lot tastier than the dry food.
When I was stationed in 29 Palms we put out milk every night for the cats, only milk. The cats got their own solid food (lizard) or they moved on. The hunters stayed for the milk. Cat candy I guess.
Hello from Idaho!
Tylerisms

It may have been fast for you, but on my end of the camera that took a wihile.
There is no turning back now.
These last two are giving me stink eye.
Just let them do their thing.

Bring on The Cat Patrol!!!
❤❤VIDEO ❤those are some nice TOM cats ❤
Happy Holidays Tyler hope you Enjoyed some time off Maybe🎄🎄🎄⛄️⛄️❤️ 12-27-2024

Look how your farm has greened up.. CATS!
Lekker man lekker 🇿🇦

Oh no! 😢 I’m sorry to hear that!! I’m sentimental with stuff like that so I can imagine how you must feel
Please look after the cats. (By the way, kittens are taught to “mouse” from their mothers-therefore, some do not know how to mouse.) If they are good mousers, they will need frequent de-worming. And, are they neutered?😊
You fooled me...I passed up this video for 6 hours because I'm not used to seeing kittens on the thumbnail 😅
What hay are you feeding the calves? Trit. or 3 blend hay? Cows probably on trit?
It must be the year of the rodent. We have lived in our house for 40 years and have never had a problem with mice. This year we have trapped nine so far. I hate the little bastards. As a former Californian, the government there is overrun with rats as well...
Scotty, beam me up! Sick and tired of hearing constant political comments, take me to a galazy far, far away!
Cats are a great option!!!
cant believe how green and wet Cali is, I don't remember it ever being that green .
15:05 Huh. Are those letters carved into the paint on the lift strut on that old Ford..?
and water also.
queens make better mousers, but your toms are really nice.
🥰🥰🥰🥰🙏🙏
Wondering why you didn't weld some up rights to the bars before you cut them. Then they are spaced correctly, and no clamping to hold
They are beautiful, try b

just be sure you don't poison the kitties !
Get those orange cats, there always hungry and very active
Yeah little "old lady " tractor!
Where is Callie your side kick?
❤
Interesting, Idle thought of the day - i just noticed that the steers at the steer paddock are all black. Rivet seems to throw lighter coloured calves, so does that mean he also tends to throw heifers?
Beautiful cats. Is it my hearing or have you got a heavy cold?
Hey kiddo that’s great you got that many cats but if they are all males they won’t stay you need some females lol good luck
Theyre gorgeous cats very healthy ,give them time to adjust as they look really freaked out .
*Also if you used decon previously , and cats eat them, it can be lethal to the cat. Hope you didnt use it previously.
