Just rewatching this in February 2021, the guidance here is still extremely relevant and on point. Your kvk season will come faster now, and I’d recommend looking at Alexander the Great as a top tier legendary. But otherwise I’m still very happy with this guidance.

I'm at 15M power, and most of this was stuff I already knew--but I had to learn it the hard way. I'd probably be at 20M, at least, if I'd known this ahead of time. Really solid info. There are a very few things that I'd do slightly differently, even if I had the chance to do it over, but NONE of this is wrong.

One of the reason I really love your vids is that you emphasise countless times for people to "think" before spending. Unlike others who just smash the buy buttons sometimes which can lead to a lot of younger players to get carried away. good job chis!

Tip: for Free to play, don't invest in fight commanders on early part. Invest in gathering until you have t4s. For me 70% of damage come from troops rather than commanders. When you have t4. Invest on Sun Tzu and scipio for open field.

Yup all gathering commanders maxed first, and never stay in alliances not building pits in fixed sequence.
for me as a f2p, 70% of the damage comes from the commanders :D

Super helpful, thanks a lot, mate. I wish I would have watched the whole video before spending because we have a gem event and I figured, "why not get the level 25 blueprints early." Oh, I guess I could have remembered those gems would have taken me from level 8 to 9 VIP. oops.
My favorite thing was the simply-stated order in which to level up Epic commanders in the beginning. Your advice for buildings is spot on .... except, I don't think you get enough value out of resource production buildings early in the game when those resources are better spent on other things - build your factories when you have extra resources and nothing better to do. Advice I heard recently is to spend XP books on gathering commanders at the start and let your Epic commanders fight the barbs for XP because they're better at combat, anyway. Once you're gatherers are leveled up, you can switch to spending XP books on Epics. One thing I'd like to see you discuss that I've never seen you do (unless I missed it) - when it is better to stop leveling a commander (level and talents, not skills) and move on to the next one? For example, Sun Tzu might be well worth upgrading to level 60 before spending XP on the next commander while someone like Eulji might only need to get to level 50 or 55 before the XP is better spent on the next commander in line to be leveled. You must spend more XP for higher levels so what is more efficient for commander effectiveness?

On peacekeeper commanders, you can go from 1 star to 3 stars just at level 10 by preloading but not quite reaching two stars then loading it over the top to 3 in one go using the star bundles. This will let you take a second commander while still only at level 10

Tip: Don’t buy epic sculps wait until KvK very easy to get and don’t sweat it if u don’t get an epic 5/1 you will max all epics eventually

One thing I would add about researches - as a 21mil player, I saved my Herbal Medicine lvl9 along with my CH25 upgrade to be done for MGE Stage 4 (Power Upgrade). Am also saving my speedups to then go through Chisgule's recommended researches to do as many during Stage 4 day as possible. Just an idea :)

A 28m low spender with 190 day account (vip10) just going into second kvk most probably in a month. Got my ysg maxed just a few days back and I am in a pinch to chose the next commander to work on. Alex wheel is in two weeks. So my question is am I better of working towards t5 and getting to vip 12 and saving up my heads to work on gk or saladin or is it worth spinning Alex wheel? . Oi Chisgule, I'm from a kingdom 120 days old.. I'm saving legendary sculptures for genghis khan and in the future I plan to get Takeda as well. I don't really like infantry but I have a 5111 Richard I and I also have a 5111 cao cao. I have sun tzu, pelagius, baibers, lohar and belisarius maxed. I want to know what should I do...Please consider I want cav and I don't really want archers or infantry and I'm 100% free to play so I don't have minamoto, I'm currently with 18 million power.

I give you the context, I'm vip 10, I got 140 legendary sculptures in stock and 130 000 gems. I'm not a big spender, but I've accumulated quite a bit over time. As you advised, I'm saving sculptures for Yi Seong. His wheel didn't come yet. My question is : With my 130 000 gem, should I go all in on Yi Seong wheel, giving up the possibility of upgrading my vip or buying book of the covenent (I'm not a rally leader tho) or should I just unlock him with the wheel, use my stocked sculptures to take him to 5/1 and wait over time to upgrade him slowly and wait for more than gems event to use my gems on master's blue prints/book of covenent/vip points ?

Check out lost kingdom 76, 1623, 1618, and 1624 vs the rest, 1623 were enemies with 1624 but were suddenly betrayed by kingdom 1620, 1623 were desperate so they formed an alliance with 1624, pass 5 will open later, the carnage will be massive.
