Andy! Thank you so much for playing Starless! This is THE Buzzaround sound I've been chasing for years and some pedals can't reproduce it in-hand. I think about this song and tone every day, so I had to do a double take when I heard you play it. Thanks so much for your demos and thanks Massive for building the G.O.A.F.!
99 out of 100 reviewers would have chosen a more popular King Crimson song (if any), so we really are lucky you find tones from deeper cuts. You really are a musician's musician and I'm thankful you do these videos.
As someone who has had the chance to play with one of these, it really is a killer fuzz. Such a great tone. I've played with it both in front of a 1974 Fender Twin Reverb, and a Kemper, using a variety of amps, and every one I've been able to find a sweet spot that has such a nice tone to it. Massive FX definitely did an amazing homage to the original Buzzaround, while adding their own twist.
Worth mentioning that this pedal is closer to earlier-days KC tone. About the time of Larks' Tongues (1973), RF switched over to a Guild Foxey Lady, an OEM version of the Big Muff.
Wade Wilson The most? He certainly has the most insane finger picking ability, I've ever seen. Mark Knopfler, Lynsey Buckingham and some chicken picker guys may be faster at their styles, but Andy plays QueensOTSA and Queen, then Hendrix and Mastodon, with his imaginary pick position, among other ways of fingering. It's uncanny. I used to do this but I was limited to what I could play, Andy knows not those limits.
Glad to hear the audio quality is better than the previous Reverb demos. Could still be tweaked a little more to get even closer to the good old PGS days. Great sounding fuzz pedal too!
Next time you come to film a round of Andy doing demos in my opinion it would look nicer if you placed him more to the left of the frame so the neck of the guitar wouldn't be covered by the pedal!
DrRussPhd It's just another example of the stupidity of the Hall, and how there will always be a band or an artist getting left out, with a cap on how many people/bands get in every year. Rolling Stone might look at there own too 100 lists to see the obvious snubs. We could have a sick concert built around the snubs. Fripp should already be in there as an artist in King Crimson and beyond, but I agree King Crimson should. On influence alone.
Funny thing is out there is a well heeled player , his $8000+ Gibson Les Paul with a Braz board running through a $80 gold tipped cable into a $3000 boutique amp and then plug into a pedal like this. Every single electron is going to be scrambled until none of the original signal is left and yet there will be those who still swear they can "hear" the tonewoods and vintage plastic molecules.
James Sigmon i hear those band tracks ARE coming back as soon as his new studio is dialed in . Transistion form one studio to another takes a little time. Love those intros with the backing tracks too.
once again - my new p-90 favorite guitarist.... couple more jams like this and hell be my new fuzz favorite guitarist also.....ok, this guy has to be in a band or has some release????
Is the buzz around based loosely off of the mkii or mkiii Tone Bender? Deciding if I want one of these since I have a mki an mkii and a mkiii, plus 3 different kinds of fuzz faces...Plus a Sputnik👽 At a point where it’s just do I want something, rather than “need” it...(mkii will b a Custom build Pigdog mkii Professional w/nos Mullard green jacket OC82D’s and my favorite custom touch: a tone knob :) So it’s gonna b the 3 knob mkii Pro they never made!!! Super excited!) Ugh, gotta stop buying pedals!!😂😂It’s most certainly an addiction, and Andy feeds it all the time!!😳😂 Thanks, Andy, for another great vid! Don’t know what I would have done had I never stumbled upon your demos!!(And I’m really excited for the CBA Warped Vinyl HiFi, it has everything I wanted that the mkii lacked and sold because of those lackings!) You’re Just the greatest Andy!!
King Crimson, the deeper one digs, the better it gets. Fripp is a genious, thank you for inspiring others to dig Andy.

Tried a Les Paul, Triangle Muff and Hiwatt? That's what Fripp actually used :P
I want to buy all fuzz pedals and I don't even have a band that needs them
Ahhh frippertronics great tone.

Andy has the most unique technique

Starless!!!!
Andy's Les Paul = all is right with the world for a few minutes.
This guy is flipping kool
Great tone!
Me: this doesn’t sound like a reverb pedal at all
Also me: oh, yeah... Andy is with Reverb now
if I will ever build pedals, my reverb will be called the "Tone Report", built with quality components by my company "Hey, it's Andy Effects"
Is there anyways to know what the other songs Andy played were? Cause I think the entire demo and cchoices for tracks was killer......wow
Starless

Starleeeess!!! 🙌🏼
and King Crimson is STILL not in the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame . . . proves what corporate run club the HoF is.

We must already have every flavour of fuzz known to mankind, surely ... ...
I miss the full band mixes a the beginning of demos :( any plan to bring them back?

Wonder what a Gibson SG/Dual Humbuckers, into this pedal, into an Orange Tube Amp sounds like ??
that octaver would get an awesome Band of Gypsy's tone

Ahh, Starless.
What was that first song played, right before Starless?
8 months late, but since nobody gave you an answer it was 21st century schizoid man by King Crimson.
Rad

the nuts on the foot switches are not straight!
lol they got andy!!!
starless bible black hrhr
Is it me, or Andy's hair is morphing in Joe's hair?
i miss joe on this pedal demo show :(
I don’t think anyone besides you does.
Simonthan they have their own opinion. I'm just not feeling it with Andy playing the pedals.
I find Andy's tone was warmer (better) in the PGS era.
Oh no not the age old comparing everything new to the old way and saying it was better. No offense but it just happens with everything.
Nuno Carmona no it wasn’t
