I really enjoy your blocks I grew up in Rhodesia fishing farms dams and Tiger fishing in Kariba, Great to see someone going through the same experience that I had when my father and our family were growing up in the late 60's lived on a farm outside of Mangula
is that david potterton? i was best friends with his brother ian in rusape, rip. he was born the day we left zim. used to go to mongwe loads with his mum dad sister and ian. the dad is an absolute bushman in the bushes
Yeah that him, I showed him the comment and he really wants to get in contact with you, you can email me joshuaclegg64@gmail.com and then I can send you his number.
Good to see you fishing there. Many years ago when I was a student there we fished that dam and got a few bass but had more luck at "Battlecamp" dam. It was a long hike but definitely worth the walk. I got my best of 5 1/2lbs there. Biggest I got in those years in Zim. Your videos are very good and in the years to come look forward to watching many more. Is that a private lodge dam you normally fish for tiger and bream? Extremely picturesque and great fishing also. Hippo, flat dogs, tiger, bream, and all that wildlife. Soak it all in.
Hey guys i fished upper and lower Longden dams as a high school kid back in 1982. I wacked 9 x 1kg bass in a row on orange n gold floating rapala all in a little bay near the river mouth on upper longden. We were on a bass fishing bush exit to Longdens. Pss try the dam on the opposite side of the school just before u get Ncema dam . Its a 45 minute walk past old mine dumps. Donnerd the bass here got two 3kg and a 4kg here on mini fat rap craw colours. I was literally there every weekend when i wasnt playing cricket or rugby. I used to send a bowl of 6 bass to the college prefects table on sat/ sun nights. MADawson Founders house 82/83/84
Thanks! Yes we fished that dam once but the owners chased us away! But I’ve heard good things about it! I’ve left falcon now, so hopefully the young ones will give it a go!
@@ThisisAfricaOutdoors That’s good to hear. I’m big into my Falconry and Bass fishing of course. Some brilliant Falconers have come out of Falcon College.

Thanks! Yes I have great memories at falcon, lots of fun. Yes it’s a private game reserve that we normally fish at, so lucky to live their.
@@ThisisAfricaOutdoors keep up with these great videos. Keep the Hippo and Flat dogs at bay.

One tip dont fish white brade its snap quick if you set the hoek
Bass = perch ?
Or there is a difference
Nice lovely video 👌🏽 keep going
Thanks a lot man! No this is a largemouth bass native to the USA but has been introduced to Zimbabwe, the Nile perch gets much bigger than this fish!
Look like it so much
Do you use the uni knot
Yes when tying braid

Can I fish here even though I don’t go to the college as I’m here on holiday
Yeah man just don’t get caught because it’s not on college property 😂 that’s what I always used to do.
@@ThisisAfricaOutdoors okay bro 😂
What grade are you in
Just finished school
Pity about the locals fishing and netting to eat the fish in such a small dam.. soon enough there will be no fish at all. Awesome catch though!
