    I'm excited to see more model companies tackling the more obscure armor and vehicles from history. Some really neat stuff has yet to see plastic... *fingers crossed for a proper 1/35 Bob Semple release*

      Haha that would be fantastic ! Copper state just released a canadian armoured car and its got very bob semple vibes.

    I found your videos are much more clear. You explained everything very well. It was easy to understand all you where doing and why it was being done that way. I spent 20 years as an instructor for the state of florida in the us. For law enforcement. You would have made one of the best instructors. I have just subscribed to your channel. I have just got back into building models again. After 25 years. You are a grat help where I need it. Thank you for your time and knowledge. Please stay safe and happy

    • @lpjmodels
      @lpjmodels  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks, I like to play with everything I have, and although I love using oils I'm not going to rule out other ready made stuff in the future, however, they dont beat the versatility of a decent oil pallet

    I've just manage to get hold of one of these kits. Its a stunning looking period model. I think I will portray it as a museum piece with worn looking paint but no dirt. This also gives me the opportunity to leave the engine panels off to expose the superb engine detail.

      @lpjmodels  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Benny, theres a bit of a dilemma, I want to make my weathering realistic so i look at references and try to emulate the things i see. Vehicles like this are hard to do as the reference material is overall thin on the ground, lucky Copper State provided a good few in their book.

    You missed an opportunity to add exhaust staining. Bigger engines of that vintage had no oil filter system and you tended to get quite a bit of oil blow by. That oil blowing out of the exhaust would leave a light black sooting along the side of a vehicle. With a pipe that close the soot pattern would be a fan like spread. Starting about a half a foot back and getting lighter and wider as it moves back

    Mr. James, that was a verynice kit build. Your paint scheme looks great, I think you should have greased up the rear drive chains a bit with your weathering effects. Just a thought, take care!

    Superb - as is all your work; I wonder, would it have been possible to make the doors & engine doors movable - instead of glueing them in fixed positions, so they can be opened & closed at will ?

      Thanks Jan, the size of the hinges might make it tricky but you might be able to make some PE ones? I remember having moving PE hatches on a tristar PZ1 a long time ago

    Are any of the paints you use solvent based?
    You do nice work, very inspirational.

    When you painted the cross on the side, why did you not put the hatch door in place to get the cross pattern i line?

    What brushes are those that you use to blend the mud in with what looks like a kinda gentle stabbing?

    Excellent build! I’ll definitely try your mix ratio for the Mission Models Paint. One question though. What is your mixing ratio for the MMP primer?

    • @lpjmodels
      @lpjmodels  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks a lot ! My ratio for primer is usually about 70% paint 30% thinner.

    • @ailercon
      @ailercon 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I will definitely try that. I’ve been using MMP for a couple years now, and I’m still having peeling issues with the primer. Even trying to follow their instructions to the letter. Even bought a new airbrush just for MMP, and I was still having problems.

      lpj models I love the use of oils to the point there are no thick pigment products for mud and dust. Excellent.
