I have the '24 Street Triple Moto2 edition. Its a quite aggressive seating position. It's tall in the rear end. It's the only sport bike i've had to tippy toe. The footpegs are quite high and behind you and the clip ones put you in a aggressive position. The full Ohlins is super stiff for the street. It's very flickable and definitely a track machine! But I kind of wish I bought the RS model and saved the $3k. Although the Moto2 is spec'd out very nice!
I've got the streetfighter 848 2014 and I've had the triumph. Obviously the triumph is a great bike and revs higher being a triple. My 2014 streetfighter is the best bike I have ever ridden in my 28 years of riding if I could justify changing it I would definitely get the v2
I went for the '24 765 Moto2 exactly for the more sporty ergos, I learned that from my '18 765. Also have the Monster SP, man Ducati knows how to make a nice machine. The 765 is easier to ride. I find the big twin too eager at low revs, always having to "manage" the throttle.
Enjoyed the vlog Dave ! As u may recall , I’m the fellow who has a mt09sp and that same Street triple RS( color and all). Your insights to The Streetfighter V2 compared to Street triple are fantastic. Love both my bikes , but the more I learn about the Streetfighter V2 and hell even V4 the more itchy I get to get one 😊😅
True, I am comparing to the 2023 model that I was riding in the video, which I have already tuned from my phone with TuneECU. I am going under the assumption that at some point they will crack the ECU and let us tune, but you are correct on that.
I mean, at least with the 2023 model Triumph, I don't think it handles any better than the Ducati. It's a bit lighter, but they both corner like a cat on carpet.
@@gpzfan5272 Would probably depend on the track. And it would take a pro level rider with tire warmers and all that to tell the half second per lap difference...
I'm debating between the Street Triple and the Tuono 660. I'm leaning pretty heavily towards the Aprilia, just because of its sharper handling, but those extra 28hp are enticing. Not to mention the reliability factor. That being said, my current bike only has 80hp, and I hardly ever get to use all of that, so another 20hp, combined with 120lbs less weight should be plenty on the road. I do want to start doing track days, so the lack of HP might be an issue, but for at least the first few track days, it almost certainly will be enough. The Aprilia does sound better though, as all Aprilias seem to do. I'll test ride the two next spring and see what happens.
Aprilia makes a great bike... but when it comes to service and maintenance... I would go with the Triumph unless you have a good Aprilia dealer nearby and have a good relationship with them... Especially if you are gonna track it.

Yeah, I wish I had a newer one to compare it to, as they changed it a good bit in 2024

Yeah, I had the SF1098 and my wife had the 848 version. I also had the 848 Nicky Hayden Edition, an 1198 and a bunch of others... Loved them all.

Class and claaass in favour of the Duc.
Streetfighter V2 no doubt about it 😁
You can mod the old street 765 from 2017-2022 by adding a 5mm spacer at the rear spring to get the same geometry of the latest model
26:04 you can’t just put slip on and tune new models 2024+ only full exhaust and it’s 1.500$+

Ducati for power, Triumph for handling.

@@SquireSCA they were tested back to back in one of the UK bike magazines, same rider, same track, Triumph was quicker every time.

I'd take the Ducati in a heartbeat. I love uneven fire engines.
Ha! Clicked on it so fast when I saw the title. Hope all is well Dave!
you can infact get cruise control on the new model but you have to pay more for it
Ducatis just have ‘it’. I go out with a mate on his MV and people never ask about or compliments his bike, just the Ducati
It's definitely got the sexiness factor... Italians just have that flair and passion that somehow makes it into their design language.
MV are sexy bikes .. I feel ducati is more known to people that don’t know about bikes that why they get the attention
@@raymundodelatorre2145 True, but Ducati also has a larger dealer network, easier to get parts for, etc...
@@SquireSCA only reason I haven’t gotten the MV superveloce I’m scared I’ll brake and too expensive to fix

I love big power... but on a short, light naked bike, at some point the power becomes more of a liability than an asset...
