Having another Moltres, with borderline identical art as the first one, replacing a full illustration as the premium card absolutely sucks.

@@ShlamDunkk I don't really care for it that much, and I understand that they want to try a new thing, it's just that for me, is kind of a weird choice. Besides, even from a marketing perspective, Charizard is much more popular than Moltres and is just as viable, so again, a bit of a weird choice

Making moltres more available really has me believing that the next fire ex cards, for what will likely be gen 2, are gonna be nuts (Typhlosion, Entei, and Ho-oh)

I run the Pikachu for the late game Lt Surge Raichu tech since Raichu hits 140 damage and Pika EX caps at 90
So tbh, they prolly have a charizard card made, but they decided to release it much like they did venusaur and soon blastoise (giving more chance for additional solo events). Id say because they saw they needed to focus on content, the switch to the moltres card mightve been more of a late decision, where moltres was chosen cuz it fits theme and also has decent long term usage potential as an energy generator.
4:00 All charizard themed items to go with the crappy Moltres after getting themed items with our Mewtwo and Pika cards is like the ultimate troll.

My thoughts, there was a alt art Charizard originally going to the premium pass, but they changed there mind and are going to do a drop event similar to Venasaur, so they threw a random fire card into the pass instead. That what I think happened

I believe all the current events were pre-planned before game launch. The Moltres switch is plausible, though, especially as there’s no way we’d get a Mee set since it’s part of the Mythical Island themed collection rewards.

At least 4 of us until now seem to be using it because of the votes
a lot actually, pikachu is used in pika raichu meta deck and mewtwo is used in mewtwo ex meta deck as a tank, while plain charizard is barely used at all so it's kinda make sense why the dev change it to moltres ex.
I like how Mythical Island buffed out grass and poison while also giving new Ponyta & Rapidash plus Volcarona for fire decks. Mew EX really helps Mewtwo IMO and can counter Celebi (but not Dhelmise).
I was running the promo pikachu card in my raichu/pikachu ex/Zappos deck.
Always happy to see the dragon dance in basically each new video, great to see your channel grow!! Also, absolutely loving Mythical islands, hope that pulling rare cards is easier in a smaller pack lol

I've cooked up an interesting Dragonite deck.
2x Dratini
2x Dragonair
2x Dragonite
2x Druddigon
2x Mew
Whatever support cards you want.
Idea: Mew works much like Weezing with its support card that can pull it out. Pros over Weezing: 1 retreat cost instead of 3, it's a basic card instead of 1st stage, it has more bulk, and it can be used as a hard counter to MewTwo, Charizard, and somewhat Celebi. Cons: it's an Ex (dying gives up 2 points), takes more energy to do real damage, cannot use psychic energy in deck or it fumbles up energy rotation too much. I think a worth trade off. This deck is a Stalling machine, regularly get to the last 3 cards of my deck.
The new pass system is a lot better. They would sell a lot more if they put usable cards in it, which is what they’re doing, which is smart on their part.
Mythical is fun so far so looking forward to the next promo stuff and whatever holiday stuff we're getting.

I’m liking quite a few cards in this Mythical expansion, and Congrats on 12k
I would much rather have usuable cards than cool art. That being said, I really liked the Arcanine EX Blaine wonder pick event. Thats where I finally got all the cards I needed to finish a Blaine deck. I hope they do more "usuable card" events since it really sucks to not be able to build the decks you want.

I've said it before, promo cards should not be just reskins for other cards. Back in the day with real tcg they were always different. It's nice for collecting but, most want to show them off in battles too.
@@Newlife2811 it's also an awful reskin that doesn't even look that different. We already have 3 different moltres ex, who df thought another would be a good idea.

There's no way we won't eventually get a promo of GameFreak's favorite mon Charizard, they're probably just saving it for a Solo Event like Venusaur and Blastoise.

Raichu + Pikachu + surge is a godlike deck. It's meta competitive tier for sure. So base Pikachu is necessary

3:00 They could’ve just given us the promo full art Pikachu as an alt art to Pikachu ex instead of regular Pikachu and it absolutely would’ve been usable. No reason they can’t do full art AND ex for a premium pass cards. It doesn’t have to be one or the other.

Even if Moltres is "usable" in that same deck , Char EX is playable , why not some kind of full art Char EX .... I feel like looking at the list of pass cards now was understandable until Moltres and it looks out of place since it's not a pack art cover

3:22 I’m totally fine with them doing the EX as the Promo, as long as it’s no different from the base card. If it is unique, it’s pay to win, and I say this as a premium subscriber. I am a little disappointed in the art itself though, it should be… better. I just wish they had kept with their streak of doing the base form of the pack art with an amazing art for the rest of this release cycle. When A2 drops, making the February Premium a brand new EX mon (same effect as something in the set, just a new art) would have been soooooo hype. But they couldn’t stick to it, and broke the pattern too early.

The best route would have been give the Ex card (Charizard or Moltres) a new artwork like the previous premium pass cards.
As someone with only 1 Moltres EX, having spent money and love Charizard EX. I actually love a Moltres EX for the premium pass, but I can understand people being mad

I think we didnt get the alt art of charizard on the premium pass is because we have gotten venusaur and blastoise(about to) one the pve event so they wanted to keep that patern. but also the premium patterns seems to be a card used in each on the main decks but not the main EX. (regular pikachu in pikachu ex, regular mewtwo in mewtwo EX) so in order to not have two alt art regular charizard they gave the moltres.....still would have preferred a full art of moltres or similar to the other two

I run that Pikachu at 2:58 in my Raichu Lt surge Pikachu EX deck. Base mewtwo is also ran in many mewtwo ex decks as a good meat shield

personally i much prefer this alt art ex card. especially if they only choose ex cards that are staples or commonly used. helps people create a deck and gives us an alt art card. i really doubt anyone cares for the pikachu or mewtwo we already got.
that Moltres ex being premium is such big disappointment. if they wanna sell more pass, they should give better value to it like more free packs etc.
