Ancient techniques resurrected! We were doing these with asphaltum, turpentine, various sprays and lithographic water trays. Back in the early 70s!!!!!!!!! Nice to see this cool art form resumed.

That is too cool. I've been dipping small stuff with Marabu Marbling paint, but now I guess I need to steal one of our ice chests or bins and graduate to bigger things. Thanks!

@@dolorescamarda5962 IMO, The video was pretty self explanatory and yet she still explained it all as she went through it
      1- Bucket of water
2-choose an item you want to dip
3- using a few different colors of spray paint (she's mentioned Rustoleum brand works well), spray the paint into the center of bucket, one color at a time until reached desired design/color combo
      4-dip the item into bucket
5-before pulling item out of bucket, move the remaining paint to the edge of bucket.
6- lay items flat to dry
      .....done😐

I have some scratched CD's that are calling my name and they could actually be embellished to make Christmas ornaments. Clearly, I'm going to have to start finding some old vinyl that can't be played anymore. I have a huge stash in storage, but they are literally probably collectors stuff now. I can't even....

I know it has been like forever since you posted this but I just had to comment on the dipping. Back in the day (we won't say how many decades it was) I did a report in biology class on hallucinogenic drugs. For the cover I actually dipped it like this but not using paint but ink you use to refill magic markers. It is oil/alcohol based so it floats on top of the water but was readily absorbed by the construction paper I used. It turned out great (got an A... and questions about did I do any experimenting which I denied of course). Any way I thought if you can get anything like that today it would work great on the sneakers, pillow cases anything cloth like. Just thought I would mention that. Also to tell you the paint on the vase thing was awesome.
    Peace

Love the swirls and your color choices. Was wondering if you could use silkscreening paint for fabric dipping? Not sure if they are acrylic also, but they might stand up to washing and be flexible. And I've seen this done with cheap nail polish, too, on outsides of coffee mugs. I wondered what vinyl records you are using, because I love vintage records and have a victrola to play the old ones, so it makes me a little sad to see them painted. They do look cool, though!
