  • In this fishing video I am trolling Alabama rigs, a multiple lure bass fishing rig, for hybrid bass on Lake Norman in North Carolina. Hybrid bass are a cross between striped bass and white bass, and they are stocked in lakes around the country. I am using a high speed trolling technique designed to catch he hybrid bass and the spotted bass that are in these waters. A-rigs, as Alabama rigs are sometimes called, are what many consider the best way to catch striped bass and hybrids.

I've eaten plenty of spots, caught most of mine creek stomping around west central Indiana. Great on light tackle and yes, very good eats.

May be a dumb question, but here in Florida, we troll for fish, but that means we put our rods out and go a slow speed until we get fish on. That's not what you mean by trolling for bass, correct? I don't see your boat moving. I think you mean trolling around and looking for them? I was like, "What??? you can troll for bass?" 😅 Update: I just watched the rest of the video, and you really ARE trolling like I was referring to. That's awesome, I've never heard of such a thing, I'll have to try that at our lake house in Alabama on the Coosa River. Wow, TY for posting!!

Yah, I am running the big motor at about 1.8-2.5mph......you can do it with a battery powered trolling motor, but you'll need a 36 volt to get the speed.

Hit me up sometime and I’ll show you how a thumper will turn those fish on. They love the sound of my thumper on an aluminum boat.

Why did you not try live minnows, but you caught a bunch without using live bait
