    Dr. DMITRY RACHMANOV is a graduate of Juilliard (BM, MM) and the Manhattan School of Music (DMA). Among his teachers were Nadia Reisenberg, Arkady Aronov, Alexander Eydelman, and Ada Traub. He has received numerous awards, and in recent years has served as a Co-Director of the biennial ChamberFest at CSUN Festival. In the summer of 2019, he was a resident at the Johannes-Brahms-Haus, Baden-Baden. He is Chair of Keyboard Studies at California State University, Northridge, and a sought-after performer, master class clinician, adjudicator, and lecturer. He has served on the faculties of Manhattan School of Music and Roosevelt University's Chicago College of Performing Arts. His work as a guest artist/lecturer/clinician has taken him to Juilliard, NEC, Eastman, Royal Northern College of Music (UK), and the Shanghai and Beijing Central Conservatories. An active member of the American Liszt Society, Dmitry Rachmanov served as the Artistic Director of the 2016 ALS Festival “Liszt and Russia”, hosted by Cal State Northridge. A noted proponent of Russian repertoire and a founding member of the Scriabin Society of America, he is producing a video anthology of Alexander Scriabin’s piano works. He has recorded for Naxos, Parma, Master Musicians, and Vista Vera. His "Beethoven & his Teachers" album, recorded at the Frederick Collection with four-hands colleague Cullan Bryant, has been acclaimed as a winning and thoroughly convincing look at these duet rarities.

    The mission of the the Frederick Collection of Historical Grand Pianos, ca. 1790-1928, is to acquaint musicians and the concert-going public with the sounds of pianos of the types, and often the makes, familiar to and played by the major composers. Begun in October 1985 by co-curators Michael and Patricia Frederick, Ashburnham, MA, these fall and spring Historical Piano Concerts feature standard piano, chamber, and vocal repertoire from the late 18th through the early 20th centuries. The series presents distinguished American and overseas musicians, many of whose names are familiar to our live and virtual audiences.
