John Wayne was great in The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance. The Shootist, and Rooster Cogburn. But Clint had a unique style of Westerns. His roles were by far the coolest of all.

For decades I had in my head that that little hotel owner guy was Benny Hill, and it was only today, when I set out to prove it to a friend, that I realised it was a false memory.
I have seen a still of Clint Eastwood and the lady in his hotel room but that whole scene ended up on the cutting room floor it would’ve been nice if it been kept in the movie !
That's a fully deleted scene and what a shame, would've loved to seen it part of the movie. Amazingly, Clint Eastwood, Mara Krupp, and José Marco is one of the few cast members from For a Few Dollars More that's still alive to this day.
At first I thought the proprietor was really tall then after Blondie disregards him and takes the room we notice him step down aome stairs and see that he's almost a dwarf. Clever metaphorical imagery there.

Yes I noticed that she was playing chess also. It was subtlety of a genius film maker. He, the manager appeared to be less than adequate in many ways and I felt that the Director was trying to hint at this point, as he fussed around, whilst she whistfully adjusted her decollatage.and flashed her gazumbers.

no, they did have the technology back then, an analog film has a lot bigger resolution than a 4/8K digital resolution. this clip must be from the 4K remaster which was released a year ago, thus the exquisite quality.
My late dad used to love these spaghetti westerns especially this trilogy. I must re watch them again sometime myself now as a 51 year old man
