Thank you for posting this video. Cheryl has been so instrumental throughout my life, now she nailed it on on the passing of my mother. Everyday that I visited my Mom I could see that she was slipping further and further away. I loved my Mom and I relish Cheryl for composing such a vital song to help me through the grief.
I love this song; probably my favorite. Could someone please post all the lyrics here for "Further and Further Away?"Lyrics full of sadness and words meaningful to me. Thank you.
I can see the place where I came from I can hear those sounds right now I can find the paths I used to run And believe I still know howThen I shake my head, clearing my vision I keep those scenes at bay And I can see the place where I came from Slipping further and further awayAnd I can feel the way I used to feel When the world was small and green And you sang a song of soft appeal And I curled into my dreamThen I shake my head, clearing my vision I keep those scenes at bay And I can feel the way I used to feel Slipping further and further awayTime keeps moving faster and faster I'm not losing track I'm afraid that something's forgotten So I keep looking backI can hear the songs you used to sing I can swear I won't let go You were strong and you knew everything That was all I had to knowThen I shake my head, clearing my vision I keep those scenes at bay And I can hear the songs you used to sing Slipping further and further away

I can see the place where I came from
I can hear those sounds right now
I can find the paths I used to run
And believe I still know howThen I shake my head, clearing my vision
I keep those scenes at bay
And I can see the place where I came from
Slipping further and further awayAnd I can feel the way I used to feel
When the world was small and green
And you sang a song of soft appeal
And I curled into my dreamThen I shake my head, clearing my vision
I keep those scenes at bay
And I can feel the way I used to feel
Slipping further and further awayTime keeps moving faster and faster
I'm not losing track
I'm afraid that something's forgotten
So I keep looking backI can hear the songs you used to sing
I can swear I won't let go
You were strong and you knew everything
That was all I had to knowThen I shake my head, clearing my vision
I keep those scenes at bay
And I can hear the songs you used to sing
Slipping further and further away
Yeah I'm surprised at the views, this is song I've loved since I was a kid, lol "old song" :)
Is she the songwriter? I know this song very well by Kathy Mattea and the wonderful Suzy Bogguss...Just a lovely poetic song
Yes, she is the songwriter, love this one so much.
Cheryl, did you attend Lutherville Elementary school?
