Noticed your SCUBAPRO R109 on the shelf. I started diving them in 1982 and continue to use it as my primary second stage. Haven't found a reason to change.
The R109 I believe came out in 1969. The first balanced second stage the R156 came out in the Mid eighties. And it is really just an updated R109. Most divers don't realized how little has changed in single hose regulators in the last 40 years.

thanks for the rundown of thailand liveaboard!
bit of feedback - maybe the mic is too close to the throat? that's by far the loudest swallowing i have ever heard in a video, haha

@5:18 Oceanic white tip? With them being a more open ocean species I hope they arent anywhere near the reefs.

I don't think this guy has ever done a Liveaboard in Thailand. You're showing a video of Phi Phi and talking about Lamu Pier and Chalong Pier - wow. Showing Oceanic white tip - never seen one on all my dives in Thailand.
So many things wrong in this video.
“Whale sharks, manta rays, and a diverse array of pelagic species” in Surin Islands and Tarutao.
NO: Whale sharks and manta rays are not guaranteed sightings, even in these regions. Tarutao National Park is less renowned for large pelagic species compared to Richelieu Rock or Koh Bon.
“It’s worth looking up what the conditions are going to be like and whether it’s worth bringing a reef hook.”
NO: Thailand’s marine parks often discourage or outright ban the use of reef hooks to prevent damage.
This is like reading a bad marketing pamphlet from a bad operator.
