One of my favorite things about 3ds was the themes, added just a little bit more personality to the console and i would buy several
I wanna buy some themes for my 2ds but the eshop is closing soon and I don't have an eshop account 😭
3DS: many themes
Switch: 2 themes for 6 years
Can you really blame us Modders to use Custom themes tho 💀
Exactly themes when it’s unmodded it’s so basic lmao which is why I homebrewed mine for themes and free games Lmao
There is only 2 themes basic black and basic white obviously someone is gonna mod it and add more
Is it tough to mod? I heard that the process of doing it can brick it p easily
those custom themes look so fun and playful, I wish nintendo would allow them. It reminds me of my colorful 3ds
i think nintendo should add themes included with games. for example, you buy Zelda BOTW, and put it into your switch, and you get the Zelda BOTW theme!
(but sadly this will most likely not happen)
The PS3 did that. Why can't the Switch? So many consoles had a little jingle or background image when you popped in a game
@@1tsFawkes now that you say it, i think i remember about it!
yeah idk, i think the switch menus dont have personality
Themes wastes recources to game. The switch is a game console not a smartphone for daily usage
we need themes badly!!! since the 3ds had wonderful themes :/
It’s sad that PS4 has so many, you even get some from games too, like Kingdom Hearts or Skullgirls.
It’s a shame the Switch for some reason, still has none
@@HoseB932 What is even more disrupting, that the PS5 doesn't have themes either.
The different backgrounds for each game are nice, but I would love to have the option to set a overall theme for the UI.
White theme was just default, so I just accepted it. I ain’t fixing what ain’t broke.
That's my reason too, it's the default and I simply don't care enough to change it. Most the time I'm going to be just clicking into a game anyway, it's not like I spend a lot of time looking at it.
I actually went back to white a few months ago and don’t mind it. After using black for 3 years, white feels like a mix up and suprisingly not as ugly as I used to think
Legit same tbh. I got bored of the basic black after using it for so long, so I kinda felt like switching it up
I love using the light theme I feel like it makes the text and colors look better.
Yeah but the white theme on switch is like staring in the sun
Yeah, the previous white themes of other consoles weren't eye-searingly white
White themes in general just look cleaner. I’m still waiting for the Switch to have custom themes like the 3DS.
I use white theme because I go over to friends houses with my switch a lot and that way I can easily tell which switch is mine just by turning it on! if it's white it's mine
I used to use the black theme, but I have a worsening astigmatism that is irregular and therefore can't be corrected with lenses. It basically causes me to see a double image, particularly when I am looking at bright colors against a dark background. It's just become too disorienting for me to use the dark background, and games with low lighting like Metroid Dread can also be cumbersome at times.
Honestly, I just think he white theme looks livelier! In any other case though, I prefer dark mode.
I use basic white theme, white is a brighter better looking more happy background
I use the white theme with the reversed color filter
I feel like if you have a normal switch you use basic black, but if you have a switch light, use basic white
It's like having a whole flashlight right at your face
If I am playing my switch late at night I prefer not to be blinded
I got an OLED model and I realized the black theme isn’t completely black (more of a dark gray.) so I decided to put on the white theme so it could match with my white OLED switch.
They should make it so you can buy themes in the eshop like they did with the 3ds.
I only use the white theme so when I play in the dark my eyes don't get fried when a game starts with a white/really light screen
I go back and forth between the two.
I switch between the two whenever I feel like it.
i want to use customized themes 😭
Ok here me out, when you bring up the side menu in light theme you get a nice light blue on black color combo while on dark you just get gameboy green
My sister uses white theme on her switch and i always get so angry when i see her switch home screen 🤣
On my Wii U I have a custom black and blue theme. Black background with blue icons.
The fact that we went from a handheld console with custom themes to a home console with no themes is still mind blowing to me how such a huge step back Nintendo made .
I use basic black but my friend got his switch about a year ago so he doesnt even though whenever i see him i BEG him to change it and he most likely always says “ill change it later”
He said “you hackers” with so much annoyance in his voice, Nintendo and the rabbit fanbase just can’t leave us modder alone.
A year ago I found this video and I still think you to this day because back then all I had was the basic white theme and I didn't know that it could change and I didn't feel like looking it up. So when I came across this it was cool to know
because of this video i remembered arms exists
I remember when I first got the switch and the next night I woke up to play some games only to get flash banged.
I will buy a day 1 switch to mod it so I can have custom themes.
No, it’s just because it’s automatically set to the white theme and I just got used to it before knowing how to turn it off, heck, I’d never even heard of the dark theme
I use the white, my partner uses the black. However I also use light mode on my phone and my partner uses the dark, so it aligns with our general preferences.
I use the Basic Black Theme on my Nintendo Switch. My cousin he uses the Basic White Theme on his Nintendo Switch
I use Basic White because that's just what it used when it started up and I was too lazy to change it.
I used to use the basic black theme on my old OG Switch but since getting a Switch lite I use basic white because the theme now matches the buttons.
Shamefully raises hand
not entirely sure , but I read and saw a video before that says the black theme saves battery, thats why ive been using it since i got my switch
I use white but only because it looks nice on my oled model
Trust me: a lot of my family members and friends who had the Nintendo switch as their first EVER console just had the basic white theme with random games like LOL suprise fashion show or something
Your channel is getting better and better.
@@EmSwizzle Thanks for the reply bro! Been here almost since the begining!
I use to have the black theme, but I at one point had the white theme during handheld and just stuck with me
I love the white more than the black now
I’ve only seen people use it if they either don’t know there’s the black theme, or they’re under the age of 7
I honestly like the dark mode better it makes certain words on screen, easy to read and navigate through the menus. as for going in the eshop itself, it’s still has that basic white theme to it. When setting up my switch for the first time, it was a pain in the butt having that white background in the initial set up stages because I can’t read the letters in the sentence is good. It just over powered it, but when the set up was done, I am mediately turn to dark mode and what a relief it is.
"ya hackers" has me dead
I change it when im bored
I wish it was like my 2DS XL where there’s multiple different-colored themes so you can pick from a variety
My cousin uses the white because "iT lOoKs bEtTeR" and that is one of my infinite proof that he is absolutely frickin crazy
I used it for MONTHS before discovering dark theme even existed.
Growing up with the ds and wii I definitely use it for nostalgia
Wasn't even aware you could change it, never bothered to check.
My friend uses the white theme because “i cant be bothered to change it right now and its not even that bad”
The only reason I decided to switch to the black screen is because I’ve had my Nintendo switch since the day it launched and my battery basically only last for an hour now, so I heard that light mode runs your battery longer than dark mode does so much changed it
I picked up my sister's switch and went blind
I use basic white for my Oled as it fits and feels fresh compared to everything else usually being dark mode
EmSwizzle: “not trying to point fingers here”
If it’s night or early in the morning I use black and forget to change it later but when I do remember I leave it white for like a month or 2
When i lose my phone i sometimes use the white theme with max brightness as a flashlight
I have two Nintendo switches that I use consistently, the only distinguishing feature is an unnoticeable pattern on the back. So I use the White theme for one and the black for the other
I like the white one, it's underrated, the only reason why I'm not using It, bc black theme is making the screen work longer(I have switch OLED)
I really hope the next Nintendo console has themes and a good eshop with virtual console.
I’m part of the majority who uses dark themes when they’re available, as soon as I heard there was a dark theme I immediately changed it lol
Almost all my friends use white and I’m the only one using black
I wish that Nintendo made it so when you take pictures you can actually said those as your wallpaper also maybe they could add a knee chat feature like they did on the way you so you could actually text call people and send photos on your Nintendo switch
I use themes of Mario, Zelda & Persona. I’m in love with custom themes.
i use it because of astigmatism 😔 screens used to give me terrible headaches before i started using light themes, plus text is almost unreadable on dark themes if you have an astigmatism.
it's just the white theme because it reminds me of the Wii
I use light theme on every device. And most of those devices switch to dark mode after the sun goes down.
The only time I’ve seen people use the white theme is if they didn’t even know there was a black theme
I had the white theme in till a couple months ago when I changed it to black I just liked white more
grey nintendo swict lite and black theme ahhh soo good
Playing in a dark room with the white theme hurts my eyes so I just use dark theme all the time.
The White theme literally hurts my eyes, I can't do it. I play xbox alot too and it has a white menu options and I use the darker one for the same reason
Mines a custom theme for the show The Magicians. It's Quelliot!🖤
White does look good during the day but It doesn't change automatically and I do most of my gaming at night so I Just keep It black
The top 2 custom themed ones both played undertale recently
I mostly use the black theme because when the switch is up close to my eyes, i dont want it burning my retinas.
I like the way the white looks but I go with black to save battery
bro the white theme is just so much sleeker and more crisp 👌
I use the basic white on switch, never changed since it was new
I like the blue color that pairs with the white theme
people who have the nintendo switch basic white on either had basic black on for a while and wanted a change, never changed their theme, just got a switch, like white or something eles
And then there’s me, who didn’t even realize you could change the theme until watching this video 😎
I didn’t even know people liked the black
theme
I alternate between them from time to time
Sogma game cube🗿
I use it as I have an Oled model so it matches the switch itself
my setup is white, it just fits to the surrounding
I had white and didn't know you could change it
I like white theme but i usually play in the night so my eyes will burn after that
Which theme do you use? 🤔
As a hacker, I have a picture of your mom as my theme.
White
White black is too dark honestly I want a custom but I don't have one
Used white for couple of years but when I switched to black I couldn't turn back.
Black, white hurt in my eyes
