I think that Fox shocks will always make a big difference over stock. In this case, the Rancho shocks were not setup properly for the type of lift that was done. I would also think that a tire within the wheelwell would look better as well - or use fender flares. In any case, the test would have been more valid if you had used a properly configured Rancho shock against the [already] properly configured Fox shock. I still think that the Fox shock would have won because it's a higher quality unit. However, the current test gave the Rancho shock a detriment/disadvantage from the start and was not really an apples to apples comparison.

The rebound test isint what people think. Several shocks are produced with no gas or no preload, and some shocks just have less gas pressure new than others. That being said there was inconsistent rebound between the two ranchos with just 10k miles and that is notable.
Imagine if those were just factory shocks and not the Rancho's..... Too many people will lift or level a truck and not touch the shocks.... #1 thing for ride quality
Rancho shocks cost gm maybe 50$ a set of 4 when bought in mass purchase..for a 70k and up truck it is truly sad…like wearing uggs on the red carpet and Kermit pajamas..don’t get me started on the factory shocks on the half tons that will cause sea sickness and excessive tire wear instantly..quality isn’t in their agenda

You’ve built Fords n Rams with solid axles and “I know that you know” that Fords n Rams are so much more durable/rugged/solid and have nicer interiors.......soo why keep on playing with those GM toy “trucks”? My truck has the mcgaughys 7-9 lift and i have it set at 9" but does fox make these for a 9" lift? I cant find any.

Rancho’s are an upgrade but at the same time they are not. Imo they are complete garbage. Mine only lasted about 50k miles….stock suspension.
