Stephanie undersells how brilliant Secret Messages is though (though she's bang on about 'Time' being a brilliant album)! If nothing else it has an absolute belter of a title track. In fact I'd rank it as one of ELO's very best tracks, if not the best. Then you've got the complete antidote to the high energy, driving, Secret Messages in Loser Gone Wild; Bluebird is a really great catchy number and one of my personal favourites; Take me On and On is a top mid-tempo offering; Stranger sounds like it should be a theme to a fantastic late 70's/early 80's TV show with a really catchy chorus and great guitar work; Letter From Spain is such an emotive, simple, pared back song; Train of Gold is a really solid mid-album track; Endless Lies was clearly written as an incredibly effective Roy Orbison meets the Beatles tribute; Rock'n'Roll is King is contagious; Time After Time is quintessential ELO. It's one of Lynne's strongest albums vocally and a very enjoyable, supremely listen-able, album with the above great songs and, barring two entries, the production is exquisite throughout. Two misses out of seventeen tracks is no mean feat. The final song I used to find disappointing; but I've just given it a few listens in isolation. It has got a gorgeous bridge, pretty Beatles' twangs, it is suitably epic, with arpeggio synths as it is wrapping, and it ties the album up in a nice bow. Brilliant.
While it is merely a symptom of the music industry's awfulness, I do still think it was Rockstar's responsibility to license those tracks again if they wanted to claim it's a "definitive edition". If nothing else, just the amount of cash they're charging for this mess has me expecting it all to be intact. And, the amount of cash they saved from the corners they cut to shove this "definitive edition" out the door could easily pay for half the missing songs.
Definitive Edition these days usually just means "The version we want you to play". This looks like something run through an automated HD filter but NOT run through QA or much in the way of additional development.
The only Definite Edition that feels like it did it correctly was AoE 2, which has everything the old games used to have, and gets updated with more material.

Back when San Andreas first came out on PC, I bought it, but the copy protection they used on the disc was incompatible with my disc drive. Which was a thing that just happened back then. The only way I could play the game I'd legally purchased was with a NoCD crack. So yeah. Always has been.
If you're on PC, you can use programs to downgrade your steam version (relying you already bought it) to the original patch with the original radio, along with emulation with 1080p / 4K resolution support if you're willing to tinker. On console you're shit out of luck, buy the PS2 slim and a copy of each and pray there's no disc damage.
Such a simple thing but I love the commitment of this channel to inputting closed captions. Sure not everyone needs it but for those that do we really appreciate it.

Two years ago, I said all future Rockstar games should be met with scorn after Rockstar was exposed for the 100-hour-a-week crunch, being forced to go to strip clubs and being yelled and screamed at by violent incel with power over snarky posters and firing designers for suggestions on making the games better. I got my wish and pray to God that it continues and haunts Strauss Zelnick, Jeronimo Barrera and the Houser brothers until capitalism ceases to exist.
I dated an ELO fan for a few years. So an unexpected digression into their back catalogue was quite a nostalgia hit for me. Ironically, far more so than playing a botched rerelease of an old video game.
ELO's _Time_ is an incredible album. Twilight, The Lights Go Down, and Here Is the News are all excellent but my favourite has got to be Ticket to the Moon.
Holy fuck yes! Time is honestly one of the best albums of all time. One of the few I can listen to in its entirety aside from a broadway album. Twilight as a song brought me out of a bad depression.
I actually discovered it via the Daicon IV short by Hideaki Anno and freinds aha ^^" (like a big chunk of my musical culture was made directly or indirectly because of cinema)
My favourite screw up with this game so far is when Vinesauce Joel spent the better part of an hour drinking sodas over and over until the game crashed and refused to launch again. At all. It crashed at the title screen after that. Amazing.
Haven't swung around Vinesauce since they got too big to follow the chat, how is my boy Joel doing? I'll never forget how big of a supportive sweetheart he was the first time I guest streamed and was a bucket of nerves.

Cyberpunk 2077 didnt wage a holy war on modders, didnt remove old, proven games from stores, didnt crash access to other unrelated games for a whole day and didnt get removed from paid customer's accounts (which is illegal in some EU countries, even if not in effin USA). This is as far as I see it - the worst launch i've ever witnessed.
Rockstar also didnt spout off about "YeArS oF dEvELopMeNt" "ITs cOMiNg WhEn iTs ReAdY" Rockstar didnt ban footage of ps4/xbox1. Rockstar didnt allow only pre-approved videos to be used in reviews. CyberPunk 2077 is still the biggest failure of a release *by far.* GTA "remasters" is 2nd place for sure, but CP2077 is still the king of pathetic launches and no amount of fanboying will change that lol.

But the level of wrongness here is NOT EVEN CLOSE to being the same and Rockstar/Take Two are such insane scumbags that CDPR still look like saints in comparison. As for legit good companies? IDK, imo it's probably not AI - given the font is different and newly-generated rather than upscaled. This is probably the result of outsourced work to folks who don't know English much or at all, trying to copy the text from the original blurry textures. Not entirely dissimilar to spelling mistakes caused in old American cartoons when they'd be outsourced to some of the cheaper Korean studios, who would tend to mangle the text they were supposed to animate.
@@mangomation3945 That is what AI can do with font. Read what it thinks should be there, and then upscale it and change it to as near as it can. There’s whole programs that do just this exact thing. There’s even pools in the game that were upscaled in Vice City that make absolutely no sense, and that’s just a single example of thousands by this point that support the auto generated proof. It’s… bad.
@@Ara_Arasaka It's likely upscaling was at play for some textures in the game, but what's done with the text I wouldn't really call upscaling, which would be trying to enhance the original assets with AI. This is just entirely new assets, often with fonts nothing like the original, and some of these mistakes seem like something AI wouldn't even make. It also wouldn't explain stuff like why the guitars are missing in the shop windows, which would be caused by replacing the assets entirely, and would be present in an upscale of the original textures. Same case for the Shaft Hot Dogs - the actual hot dog on the sign is entirely different, indicating they made a new sign from scratch. As a bit of a videophile, I know what upscaling can be like, and this is very much entirely different. Still bad, but a fair bit different than what upscaling would generally give you, which would be rougher around the edges, perhaps a bit smeary, but also looking more like an approximation of the font than a total replacement. The fonts in the DE are clearly different, and are all accurately lined up and spaced etc. In an upscale, you'd generally see it try to enhance the existing font, and it would vary a bit and often cause slight imperfections. The most I can imagine is using some crappy automatic text-detection software to figure out what they should put on the new texture, but it's equally likely it was manually done by someone with a poor grasp of English. I think in the end what's most remarkable is these clearly were touched by human developers at the end of the process - and they didn't notice all the errors and missing stuff like the guitars on the walls. And that just makes it even worse imo.

8:29 - 1, thank you for calling out Ubisoft's sexual harassment whenever you mention them 2, not only did I not ask for Rockstar's launcher, I bought GTA V on Steam when Rockstar's launcher did not exist. Then they came out with their launcher and now it's a requirement to play GTA V. I still believe I should be able to get a refund for that. I don't care how many hours I played and how long ago my purchase was - they dramatically changed the product and how it works, I should be able to say "I no longer agree to this" and get a refund. Ah well, I guess there's always piracy to let me play it without the Rockstar launcher. Not that I really want to anyway, GTA V is one of the weakest entries.
I was heavly influenced by GTA games on my music taste, and when I bought the vinyl album I went on it for "four little diamonds" yet I found 3 even better ones, "Secret Messages" "Bluebird" and "Take me on and on", I keep imagining this three on a new vice city based tittle.......if the original criative team was still there...

“The Way Life’s Meant to Be” is amazing, definitely my favorite as well. That said, “Here is the News” is a really strong contender. I also think it’s got an incredibly solid overture in “Twilight”. However, I feel like there's a pretty significant story to be told in 1) How Bungie was supposedly under Activision's oppressive thumb, yet two years out from their separation from Activision, Bungie is basically becoming Activision 2.0, 2) How Destiny 2 has been marketed as "free to play" yet clearly that's a massive lie, as FFXIV's free trial has more interesting activities and content than Destiny 2's free to play offering, 3) How Destiny 2 is enhancing the precedent that it's not only okay, as a live service game, to shovel out bare minimum quality content, but to then outright remove what people paid for, with little to no compensation or adequate replacement for the value. I mean, unquestionably, Rockstar selling this low effort "dEfInItIvE eDiTiOn" is gross. And removing the original digital versions from sale to enhance this offering...also gross. But at least, I still have GTA3, Vice City and San Andreas on my PS2 and can still play them. I paid $90 for Destiny 2's Digital Deluxe Edition 4 years ago, and the bulk of that content is physically not downloadable or playable in any form. It'd be like if 343 released Master Chief Collection, and if someone tried to fire up Halo 2 on XB360 and the machine shot back an error that said "not available."

When i heard them removing content i honestly just felt discomfort and dissapointment. I know they are removing forsaken, so i ask myself, why? They kept complaining that the engine is a pain and almost unusable and that it's activision's fault when actibliz was around, but i don't get why they don't just move on and make a new project if this one is just so hard to develop on. The whole Destiny situation regarding old content is so bizzare. I've never heard of ANY developer (big or small) that willfully destroys their old material to "make room" for new stuff. Are they desperately understaffed, did they screw up the programming leaving them no other choice..? Why the heck would anyone buy that game now since the story has been removed!? And if gameplay is the hook how does a new player reach a high enough level to participate in new content if all the old grinding paths have also been taken away? I guess they're relying 100% on the whales to keep the entire studio going now..?

The "definitive" edition was the biggest dissapointment ive ever had so far in my gaming life, i was in my 20s when 3 was released and loved all 3. Went back to them a few years ago but they just fel clunky now so i was over the moon when i hear a remaster was happening. Well what the hell happened?! Greed, incompentancy and passing their trilogy that made the company what it is today to a third party studio who were probably on a strict time limit and shock horror we got a massive let down, not only that they have changed the feeling of the game totally, i cannot understand how this happens, does nobody from rockstar care or look at how the games remaster is progressing, realise its not up to their standards and take action accoringly? apparently not, so we are left with no way to obtain the originals, modders are being squashed and the trilogy is a let down, not a total disaster but for me at least its a trilogy ill never get to play again unless some serious improvements are made. It stinks of corporate greed and the poor staff who will now get harrassed are the targets for everyones rage when rockstar themselves should be accountable. Well im going to speak with my wallet and never buy a rockstar game again, i hope they learn from this but lets be honest, the gaming world has devolved into a cash grab and minimium effort farce that needs serious reform. Dont ever forget that they could have done this right and used their millions to give us a proper definitive edition but no, we are meaningless to them. Just imagine these in rdr2's engine! Thats what these deserved with all the music included.
To be honest I'd happily buy another Rockstar game that's GOOD. I'll always buy good games even if it's from a developer that's been questionable in the past. That being said I think the writing is on the wall with Rockstar. I was wise enough to steer clear of this. I was actually hopeful it might be a reasonable update but I NEVER preorder games anymore, not even from the one time greats like Rockstar, CD Projekt, or Bethesda... I let each burn me once, that was enough. The fact they can't even be bothered to license some music tracks to retain the soul of the games that made them a legendary studio is all we need to know. They don't even care about their own legacy and reputation, let alone care about the customer and their experience. Rockstar and companies like them are at the stage of their lives where they feel entitled to repeat business, while forgetting the hard work they had to put in to get where they are today. They'll continue this trajectory I would expect, with plenty more nostalgia bait for another attempt at easy money. We can only hope they fool less people each time.

I'm gonna have to disagree... It's great that they're having fun, but they're not good at it, it's kinda grating. I'm not gonna stop watching these videos if they continue singing, the rest of the content is worth it, but to my taste, it would make the videos a bit less enjoyable.

Thanks Jim for the definitive take on the definitive edition. It feels like this went the Silent Hill HD Collection route of feeding an unfinished copy of the originals to a studio not fully prepared for what would need to be done, only to be crapped out by a publisher that just wanted a quick cash boost without much care for what was actually sold.
That's just the tip of the iceberg. R* and Take Two have been on a roll these last few weeks DMCAing mods and fanports of these games too. They _definitely_ have no problem whatsoever making enemies out of the entire GTA community.

They may have actually gotten away with this if they released the "Stories From.." duology of games like this instead. Stories from Vice City is nearly impossible to find outside of eBay and it is hella expensive. Stories from Liberty City is available on the PS Vita and PS3 digital storefronts and I assume the 360 store as well.

@@helvete983 Well yeah I'm gonna assume they didn't spend the entire budget of the originals over again calling in all the voice actors to redo their lines, so of course that stuff would be mostly unchanged, though James-Stephanie *did* imply that a number of licensed tracks were dropped, which is another mark against the trilogy and in favor of just pirating the originals if I really want to play them. Hell, they're PS2 games; I don't even need to find the PC versions, I can just emulate them.
Honestly I would've paid decent money for straight ports of these games. If they'd just put out a Switch port of Vice City or San Andreas alone for £20 or so I'd have snatched it up. That's it! No further effort needed on their part, make a quick buck off me wanting to replay a classic while laying in bed. It's that easy! But full current-gen new-release price for worsened bastardisations with some of the jokes and cheats (literally the best parts!) cut out? I actually feel kind of worse off for knowing this exists at all.

I was all set to pick up the trilogy at some point, when I thought they were just ports, but they wasted a whole lot of time and money to make them worse, and now I'm *not* gonna get it. I've seen some stupid ideas in video games, but at least most of the time, it's to make a slightly quicker buck by preying on idiots, like there's at least a certain sociopathic logic to it. Here, they're spending money to make *less* money and that's it!
I agree that TIME is Electric Light Orchestra's last great album. It has the slick pop production of Discovery (1979) but with the lyrical through-narrative of New World Record (1976). In fact, I would argue that Time is a sequel to that album's Mission (A New World Record). We hear the narrator tell of how they "...traveled from a distant place and time, To reach a place they call the planet Earth," and that their "...orders are to sit here and watch the world go by." On Time, we follow them on their reverse journey. Now looking back with longing to that place we came to call home. Oh, were we talking about video games? :D
The opening looks like one of those "GTA chaos mod" videos. Like for a minute and a half you'll have spinning vehicles, interrupted 30 seconds later by phasing through walls and after that, no gravity!

I’m playing San Andreas on the switch and I have found two glitches so far: sound went weird yet fixed itself when I went home and then back in and when I did the low rider mission Cesar’s fingers were somehow 2ft long.
I was SO close to pre-ordering this for the Switch before I decided to wait and see it when it came out. Definitely one of the better decisions I've made recently.

I'm a huge GTA fan, it was the series I solely bought consoles for but the stubborn refusal of fans to admit some stuff in the trailer didn't look great reaffirmed why I stopped blindly bootlicking Rockstar years ago. Hate the games turned out like this but hope more finally learn to stop preordering.

In fact, they've ALREADY done most of the work to that end! Stephanie undersells how brilliant Secret Messages is though (though she's bang on about 'Time' being a brilliant album)! If nothing else it has an absolute belter of a title track. In fact I'd rank it as one of ELO's very best tracks, if not the best.
Then you've got the complete antidote to the high energy, driving, Secret Messages in Loser Gone Wild; Bluebird is a really great catchy number and one of my personal favourites; Take me On and On is a top mid-tempo offering; Stranger sounds like it should be a theme to a fantastic late 70's/early 80's TV show with a really catchy chorus and great guitar work; Letter From Spain is such an emotive, simple, pared back song; Train of Gold is a really solid mid-album track; Endless Lies was clearly written as an incredibly effective Roy Orbison meets the Beatles tribute; Rock'n'Roll is King is contagious; Time After Time is quintessential ELO. It's one of Lynne's strongest albums vocally and a very enjoyable, supremely listen-able, album with the above great songs and, barring two entries, the production is exquisite throughout. Two misses out of seventeen tracks is no mean feat.
The final song I used to find disappointing; but I've just given it a few listens in isolation. It has got a gorgeous bridge, pretty Beatles' twangs, it is suitably epic, with arpeggio synths as it is wrapping, and it ties the album up in a nice bow. Brilliant.
While it is merely a symptom of the music industry's awfulness, I do still think it was Rockstar's responsibility to license those tracks again if they wanted to claim it's a "definitive edition".
If nothing else, just the amount of cash they're charging for this mess has me expecting it all to be intact. And, the amount of cash they saved from the corners they cut to shove this "definitive edition" out the door could easily pay for half the missing songs.
Oh it was their responsibility alright. But, in true "Triple A" game company fashion, they were like "fuck'em, morons will buy it anyway".
Definitive Edition these days usually just means "The version we want you to play". This looks like something run through an automated HD filter but NOT run through QA or much in the way of additional development.
The only Definite Edition that feels like it did it correctly was AoE 2, which has everything the old games used to have, and gets updated with more material.

My favourite screw up with this game so far is when Vinesauce Joel spent the better part of an hour drinking sodas over and over until the game crashed and refused to launch again. At all. It crashed at the title screen after that. Amazing.
The vinesauce streamer passive makes glitchy games ascend from this mortal coil.

Cyberpunk 2077 didnt wage a holy war on modders, didnt remove old, proven games from stores, didnt crash access to other unrelated games for a whole day and didnt get removed from paid customer's accounts (which is illegal in some EU countries, even if not in effin USA).

As for legit good companies? Frictional, Croteam (warts and all), GSC Game World. Those are better than CDPR easily and massively better than Rockstar.

IDK, imo it's probably not AI - given the font is different and newly-generated rather than upscaled. This is probably the result of outsourced work to folks who don't know English much or at all, trying to copy the text from the original blurry textures. Not entirely dissimilar to spelling mistakes caused in old American cartoons when they'd be outsourced to some of the cheaper Korean studios, who would tend to mangle the text they were supposed to animate.

There’s even pools in the game that were upscaled in Vice City that make absolutely no sense, and that’s just a single example of thousands by this point that support the auto generated proof.

@@Ara_Arasaka It's likely upscaling was at play for some textures in the game, but what's done with the text I wouldn't really call upscaling, which would be trying to enhance the original assets with AI. This is just entirely new assets, often with fonts nothing like the original, and some of these mistakes seem like something AI wouldn't even make. It also wouldn't explain stuff like why the guitars are missing in the shop windows, which would be caused by replacing the assets entirely, and would be present in an upscale of the original textures. Same case for the Shaft Hot Dogs - the actual hot dog on the sign is entirely different, indicating they made a new sign from scratch.
As a bit of a videophile, I know what upscaling can be like, and this is very much entirely different. Still bad, but a fair bit different than what upscaling would generally give you, which would be rougher around the edges, perhaps a bit smeary, but also looking more like an approximation of the font than a total replacement. The fonts in the DE are clearly different, and are all accurately lined up and spaced etc. In an upscale, you'd generally see it try to enhance the existing font, and it would vary a bit and often cause slight imperfections. The most I can imagine is using some crappy automatic text-detection software to figure out what they should put on the new texture, but it's equally likely it was manually done by someone with a poor grasp of English. I think in the end what's most remarkable is these clearly were touched by human developers at the end of the process - and they didn't notice all the errors and missing stuff like the guitars on the walls. And that just makes it even worse imo.
Lets be fair to ai here, it was just doing what it was told. Its not what an ai THINKS gta is, its what an ai was programmed to MAKE gta.

2, not only did I not ask for Rockstar's launcher, I bought GTA V on Steam when Rockstar's launcher did not exist. Then they came out with their launcher and now it's a requirement to play GTA V. I still believe I should be able to get a refund for that. I don't care how many hours I played and how long ago my purchase was - they dramatically changed the product and how it works, I should be able to say "I no longer agree to this" and get a refund.
Ah well, I guess there's always piracy to let me play it without the Rockstar launcher. Not that I really want to anyway, GTA V is one of the weakest entries.

Still waiting for Bungie's "Definitive Action MMO, Destiny 2" to get a Jimquisition, since they're now a year and a half in on removing PAID content from that game via their "Destiny Content Vault," and are about to remove more in February to make room for their "The Witch Queen Mega Super Duper Big Dick Energy Awesome Bundle." The game has gotten tons of articles and promotion about being "free to play," while the vast bulk is behind paywall.
I've felt the game to always be a massive money sink for something that, while fine enough, really isn't worth it.

However, I feel like there's a pretty significant story to be told in 1) How Bungie was supposedly under Activision's oppressive thumb, yet two years out from their separation from Activision, Bungie is basically becoming Activision 2.0, 2) How Destiny 2 has been marketed as "free to play" yet clearly that's a massive lie, as FFXIV's free trial has more interesting activities and content than Destiny 2's free to play offering, 3) How Destiny 2 is enhancing the precedent that it's not only okay, as a live service game, to shovel out bare minimum quality content, but to then outright remove what people paid for, with little to no compensation or adequate replacement for the value.
I mean, unquestionably, Rockstar selling this low effort "dEfInItIvE eDiTiOn" is gross. And removing the original digital versions from sale to enhance this offering...also gross. But at least, I still have GTA3, Vice City and San Andreas on my PS2 and can still play them. I paid $90 for Destiny 2's Digital Deluxe Edition 4 years ago, and the bulk of that content is physically not downloadable or playable in any form.
It'd be like if 343 released Master Chief Collection, and if someone tried to fire up Halo 2 on XB360 and the machine shot back an error that said "not available."

When i heard them removing content i honestly just felt discomfort and dissapointment. I know they are removing forsaken, so i ask myself, why? They kept complaining that the engine is a pain and almost unusable and that it's activision's fault when actibliz was around, but i don't get why they don't just move on and make a new project if this one is just so hard to develop on. I also really wish this practice doesn't spread to the rest of the industy (who am i kidding ofc it will)
The whole Destiny situation regarding old content is so bizzare. I've never heard of ANY developer (big or small) that willfully destroys their old material to "make room" for new stuff.

Why the heck would anyone buy that game now since the story has been removed!? And if gameplay is the hook how does a new player reach a high enough level to participate in new content if all the old grinding paths have also been taken away? The "definitive" edition was the biggest dissapointment ive ever had so far in my gaming life, i was in my 20s when 3 was released and loved all 3. Went back to them a few years ago but they just fel clunky now so i was over the moon when i hear a remaster was happening. Well what the hell happened?! Greed, incompentancy and passing their trilogy that made the company what it is today to a third party studio who were probably on a strict time limit and shock horror we got a massive let down, not only that they have changed the feeling of the game totally, i cannot understand how this happens, does nobody from rockstar care or look at how the games remaster is progressing, realise its not up to their standards and take action accoringly? apparently not, so we are left with no way to obtain the originals, modders are being squashed and the trilogy is a let down, not a total disaster but for me at least its a trilogy ill never get to play again unless some serious improvements are made. It stinks of corporate greed and the poor staff who will now get harrassed are the targets for everyones rage when rockstar themselves should be accountable. Well im going to speak with my wallet and never buy a rockstar game again, i hope they learn from this but lets be honest, the gaming world has devolved into a cash grab and minimium effort farce that needs serious reform. Dont ever forget that they could have done this right and used their millions to give us a proper definitive edition but no, we are meaningless to them. Just imagine these in rdr2's engine! Thats what these deserved with all the music included.
To be honest I'd happily buy another Rockstar game that's GOOD. I'll always buy good games even if it's from a developer that's been questionable in the past.
That being said I think the writing is on the wall with Rockstar. I was wise enough to steer clear of this. I was actually hopeful it might be a reasonable update but I NEVER preorder games anymore, not even from the one time greats like Rockstar, CD Projekt, or Bethesda... I let each burn me once, that was enough.
The fact they can't even be bothered to license some music tracks to retain the soul of the games that made them a legendary studio is all we need to know. They don't even care about their own legacy and reputation, let alone care about the customer and their experience.
Rockstar and companies like them are at the stage of their lives where they feel entitled to repeat business, while forgetting the hard work they had to put in to get where they are today. They'll continue this trajectory I would expect, with plenty more nostalgia bait for another attempt at easy money. We can only hope they fool less people each time.

Thanks Jim for the definitive take on the definitive edition. It feels like this went the Silent Hill HD Collection route of feeding an unfinished copy of the originals to a studio not fully prepared for what would need to be done, only to be crapped out by a publisher that just wanted a quick cash boost without much care for what was actually sold.
That's just the tip of the iceberg. R* and Take Two have been on a roll these last few weeks DMCAing mods and fanports of these games too. They _definitely_ have no problem whatsoever making enemies out of the entire GTA community.
yeah.. this is the most disgusting thing in this whole situation. Some of those fan mods/remakes looked absolutely incredible, but R* made sure people will only buy their own broken piece of shit for 60$.. absolutely pathetic

They may have actually gotten away with this if they released the "Stories From.." duology of games like this instead. Stories from Vice City is nearly impossible to find outside of eBay and it is hella expensive. Stories from Liberty City is available on the PS Vita and PS3 digital storefronts and I assume the 360 store as well.

To be fair they still have the charm of the originals, well GTA SA does if you have game pass then play it for free. but yes they have screwed this up big time and one hopes they are prepared to hold their hands up and fix this shitshow.
@@helvete983 Well yeah I'm gonna assume they didn't spend the entire budget of the originals over again calling in all the voice actors to redo their lines, so of course that stuff would be mostly unchanged, though James-Stephanie *did* imply that a number of licensed tracks were dropped, which is another mark against the trilogy and in favor of just pirating the originals if I really want to play them. Hell, they're PS2 games; I don't even need to find the PC versions, I can just emulate them.
Honestly I would've paid decent money for straight ports of these games. If they'd just put out a Switch port of Vice City or San Andreas alone for £20 or so I'd have snatched it up. That's it! No further effort needed on their part, make a quick buck off me wanting to replay a classic while laying in bed. It's that easy!
But full current-gen new-release price for worsened bastardisations with some of the jokes and cheats (literally the best parts!) cut out? I actually feel kind of worse off for knowing this exists at all.

I agree that TIME is Electric Light Orchestra's last great album. It has the slick pop production of Discovery (1979) but with the lyrical through-narrative of New World Record (1976). In fact, I would argue that Time is a sequel to that album's Mission (A New World Record). We hear the narrator tell of how they "...traveled from a distant place and time, To reach a place they call the planet Earth," and that their "...orders are to sit here and watch the world go by." On Time, we follow them on their reverse journey. Now looking back with longing to that place we came to call home.

Good. I'm a huge GTA fan, it was the series I solely bought consoles for but the stubborn refusal of fans to admit some stuff in the trailer didn't look great reaffirmed why I stopped blindly bootlicking Rockstar years ago.

100% with you on launchers. Back in the old days I spent hours optimizing my Config.sys and Autoexec.bat files to makes my games run as good as I could. Now I have to load up a "Launcher" what a waste of precious precious RAM.
