Love your functional and charming greenhouse; so good to see you back on TH-cam - looking forward to many more videos! I get great ideas when I watch your channel.
Donna you are really the kindest friend. 😃 this video was so random. I’m trying to figure out how to get back up on here again. Having stage fright! 😆😆
I’m a long time collector of Wakefield Handmade pottery. He’s such a talent and I think you’d love them. Oh. Haha. That bunny is quite old. It was a gift from my husband. It’s covered in moss but is so dry and falling apart. I still think it’s cute though. 💜
Can you share the type of heater you use. We put up a greenhouse in the fall, and I was nervous about putting a heater in it. I’m in zone 6a/b western Massachusetts. Happy to see you back for the growing season, I really enjoy your channel!
Hi!! I use a little floor heater designed for greenhouses. Its by Bio-Green. I totally understand your worry. It plugs into thermostat control and it never feels hot to touch. Safe if it gets wet and rated for use in this way. I’m glad you’re here. Thank you!
Thank you so much for posting on TH-cam. I follow you on Instagram too, but sometimes I dont get to see your stuff right away and miss things. Also love to rewind on TH-cam can't on Instagram. Love, love your greenhouse!
Hi!! This feedback is so helpful to me! I’ve been trying to figure out how I can make some time to share more on here. I was thinking of maybe weekly recaps where I highlight the things I talk about on Instagram. I share a lot on there and then it just disappears. Love that you said this. Thank you! 💜
@@HowsItGrowing I love watching your Instagram snippets, but wish I could go back to review some. I try to screenshot some things, like your tour of your house at Christmas 2022. I screenshoted the Santa in your window that is balancing and looks like he's skiing? Anyway, love it when you do TH-cam. Thanks.
Enjoyed your greenhouse tour on this dreary Saturday morning ☕️ Will you be attending the Philadelphia Flower Show? I haven’t been in a few years, but may brave the trip there this year.
Thank you! It really is blah today isn’t it! I think I’m going. But I’ve been considering how many times I’ll have to tell my boys “don’t touch that please.” 😂
Hi Laura. This was so much fun! I have a couple of questions: 1) What variety of lemon tree do you have? Did you get it when it was small (~2 ft) and do you have a recommended source? 2). Did that foliage on your passion flower vine stay green during winter in your greenhouse? Well done - it looks beautiful! 3). Did you sculpt the topiaries yourself? (I’ve seen you training the tiny vine on the heart but wondering about the topiaries)? What species are the topiaries?
Hi Cindy!! Thank you! It’s a Meyer Lemon. I have had it about 3 years years. It was more of a shrubby form and I trimmed off branches train into a tree form. The passion flower foliage gets yellowish and sad looking in Winter but then perks up in the warm season. The topiaries are myrtle. I have had them many years. I got them in ball shape, but they need frequent maintenance and shaping. I did create the shape on the double myrtle on my back table.
Hi! I do have a little greenhouse heater. Only runs on extra cold nights. I do start some seeds in here but more under grow lights in my house. I’d like to grow more seeds in the greenhouse.
Thank you for sharing. I just purchased a greenhouse and am concerned about how it will be secured into the ground - do you remember how you secured your? Did you use landscaping tarp and then added the pea gravel and pavers? I super excited to start growing and decorating in this new outdoor room!
Hi! Yes it was actually a really detailed and lenghty process and I’d hate to misadvise you because it will vary depending on your situation. I’d recommend contacting the manufacturer and asking for their input. Enjoy your new greenhouse! 😃
Thank you Laura for the info, that’s so awesome that you & your husband managed on your own! Where are you located/zone? We were also hoping to have a lemon tree in the greenhouse. Does your orange tree stay in there all winter with the heater - did you go with electric or gas heat?
Thank you! 💜 the orange stays in all winter, but it definitely doesn’t look its happiest. 😆 I bring it out when it warms up. I’m in NJ zone 7. It can get pretty cold in here at night, but I only set the heater to come on in extreme freezing temps. It’s electric and I’ve learned the hard way that consistent running at night will raise the bill a lot! Everything seems to do well even when it hits 30. Sun warms things up really quickly.
Hi love your greenhouse so cute! I have a question. Do you put little pinecones in your pots for looks or do they have a purpose? Where did you get the greenhouse from, I love it!
Hello! Thank you for sharing the interior of your greenhouse! We’ve just ordered a BC Greenhouse - 10 x 12 Cape Cod, how large is yours and how many people & how long did it take to build? Anne from Northern Illinois 👩🏻🌾
Hi Anne!! Oh you’ll be so happy with it. Mine is an 8x10. Just my husband and I built it, it took us several weeks because we had to pace ourselves between work and our kids. The longest and most difficult part was leveling the foundation and getting all of that set up. My husband did a grand portion solo, but I was there to help hold the glass in place and help moving materials. Lots of up and down on ladders. BC was incredibly helpful, so definitely call them if you get stuck, they will walk you through over the phone.
Looks so pretty I have a small green house to but I think it doesn’t hold much heat iam in zone 7 do you think I could put my lemon tree in the green house now
Hi!! I keep my lemon in here all year round. I don’t know why I don’t bring it outside but it seems happy so I leave it. It can get pretty cold in here at night even with the heater. I think if your citrus has been in a warm house, taking it outside now might shock it. I think I’d wait a bit if it’s pretty cold in there.
Hi! I give them Espoma Citrus-Tone every month from March through October. From November through February, I don’t. I think it’s an amazing product. Before using it, my tree never grew lemons.
I have a lemon and a lime tree I keep inside my house all year. I also use the Espoma citrus fertilizer. I also love to see them on the tree and don't pick them. They will fall off, then I use them. They have a very thin skin and a crazy amount of juice per fruit. My favorite plants by far!
So beautiful!! I have a question - I have the same greenhouse. My landscapers assembled it for me and they used the cross bracing bars on either side of the door and the corners. Did you opt to not use them? And have you noticed any problems? They are in the way of shelves I’d like to install. Thank you!
Hi!! Good question! I did opt not to use them. I’ve had no problems at all. But! I absolutely do not want to steer you wrong and have a situation occur. You might have different environmental factors with wind and weather. I’d definitely ask BC what they think before removing. 💜💜
Hi Laura! So excited for spring also ! All your videos and are so inspiring thank you for sharing. I was wondering , do you heat your green house in the winter ? And what tempeture do you keep it at ? Thanks again and have a great day !
Hi! Thank you! 😃 only supplemental heat at night and I would set it to come on if it got below 40. That said, the temp could dip to 30’ish on extra cold nights even with the heater. Its definitely a cost consideration, so I’m very mindful of it. Everything thrives including citrus, so I’m happy! 😃
Hi Laura its so nice to see you. I too am looking forward to Spring hope it arrives soon 😊
Hi! Good to see you!!! I know this video is so short and random. 😆 I’ve been off a while and trying to get back to it. 💜

Mary thank you! Wishing you a great growing season!!!
Your greenhouse is enviable. Perhaps preserve the lemons with cloves?
What a lovely idea. I’m going to try a few. Thank you! 😃💜 I’ve done this with oranges.
You have the most beautiful, gorgeous greenhouse ever 💚💚💚
This is so nice of you. I really do love it. 💜 It’s just the right amount of space and not too overwhelming.
Where do you get all your pots? And that adorable Rattan (?) Bunny on the floor of your greenhouse? So beautiful. :)

Where did you get this green house?
It’s from BC Greenhouses. It comes as a kit. My husband and I laid the foundation and built it.
Thank you for the tour. I have the same greenhouse and was wondering if you utilize a shade cloth in the summer?
Hi! I don’t but I really need to! It gets incredibly hot.

How cold does your green house get to at nite
It can get pretty nippy. I have it set to come on when it dips below 40. But I’ve seen the temp in mid 30s on a super cold night.
