I have been made to believe (rightly or not) that it is geared towards the FIFA World Cup in Qatar. The intention could be that the song is picked as one of the anthems for this World Cup. Yeah we do have lot of carnivals during the month December in most cities in Southern Nigeria. The popular one is the Calabar Carnival in Cross River State.

We do have one one of the largest carnivals in CALABAR ,Cross River State Nigeria ,people around the world do come here every end of the year although we,ve not had it since Covid,I'm Nigerian from CALABAR Cross River State,we also have A tourist attraction over here the infamous Obudu Ranch resort.most of the songs played in Nigeria are written in pidgin English

When the song became a hit worldwide, a new video was produced (fact). If you look at this new colourful carnival style video it has flags from many nationals. I have been made to believe (rightly or not) that it is geared towards the FIFA World Cup in Qatar. The intention could be that the song is picked as one of the anthems for this World Cup. It is the only explanation that makes sense to me, as people in a carnival are already up (not sleeping), proud and flaunting (Buga) their heritage and culture 😎. I am a huge fan of the song - Buga all the way to Qatar 💯
