    Congrats on passing! I passed mine today and I was sooo stressed this past week. My advise to anyone prepping is read the nhs modules and take notes. flash cards for any highlighted and defined terms are recommended. take the quizzes and practice tests. if you don’t get a good score don’t freak out! My highest score on a practice test was a 68 and I still passed. my test was similar to some of my class mates and I’d say there was a lot of administrative questions and quite a few of the body positioning for certain procedures.

      I am aware that there is EKG on the test. Now does it ask to identify the strips, calculate bpm or complications with the placement? or a little bit of everything?

    There was so much on that test that I had to just make an educated guess on because it was so different from what was in the study guide or anything we had been taught. I'm glad I passed but I really wish I could see what questions I got right and what I got wrong.

      @@fantasianealy6095 Hey love, this was posted in a group I'm in... and these tips helped me... hope they help you too. Good luck ❤
      Test Preparation Tips for Certification Examination
      · The more prepared you are for the exam, the more confident you will be.
      · Set up a study schedule for yourself and stick to it. Commit, commit, commit! Use 1.5 to 2 hours per day for consecutive days for a particular subject area (office, laboratory, clinical, anatomy, pharmacology, etc.).
      · Organize your study time for each subject area.
      · Review competency skills.
      · Take notes (especially on information that you have forgotten); create an outline format to your note-taking organizing your thoughts.
      · Note-taking will assist you in practicing memorization.
      Ø Once you have studied an area (pharmacology, law and ethics, etc.), study the same information again to help reinforce your learning. Be OVERPREPARED!!!
      Ø Drive and time the trip to the testing center a few days in advance to remove any anxiety about the center’s location and time it will take to get there. Plan to arrive early the day of the examination; you’ll avoid being late due to traffic jams, etc.
      Ø The night before the examination gather all the items you will need to bring with you to the examination (required identification(s), erasers, pencils, hard candy, etc.).
      Ø The credentialing examinations are presented in a multiple-choice format, and you must choose an answer among four or five lettered response options. Incorrect response options are called distractors
      § Read each question and remember not to make any assumptions by reading into the information presented. In other words, base your answer on the information provided.
      § Answer the question in your head before looking at the given response options.
      § Remember, your initial response is usually the correct one, unless you did not fully comprehend the question.
      § If two or three response options are correct, check to see if the last given option is an “all the above” or a combination of previous options.
      § Usually, after ruling out some options you will be left with two possible answers; select the most correct one.
      § Pay special attention to questions containing words that have been bolded, italicized, underlined, or CAPITALIZED.
      § Watch out for words such as except, unless, unacceptable, avoid, contraindicated, or never that are used in a test question. These questions have a negative polarity, look for the one “negative” or “false” answer.
      § The following is an example of this type of question;
      · The five Cs of communication components are all of the following except;
      a. Consistent
      b. Clear
      c. Cohesive
      d. Concise
      e. Complete
      In this case, you need to identify which responses are components of communication in order to find the one response that is not. The response that is not a component is the correct answer.
      · Remember that this is a timed examination so you should have to spend less than a minute on each question. If the question asked lacks clarity for you, skip it. If you have enough time remaining at the end of the exam, go back to it.
      · Be sure to answer ALL questions; any left unanswered will be scored as a wrong response.
      · Questions that require critical thinking are seen throughout the certification examinations. This means that you will be problem-solving, using logic to select the best solution to problem situations presented.
      o For example; you know the definition of “triage,” but you need to apply it to a given scenario posed to you in a multiple-choice question.
      The following is an example of a critical thinking question;You are employed at an OB/GYN practice. The physician has confirmed a suspected pregnancy of one of your husband’s family relatives. The relative nervously lets you know that no one else knows about this office visit. The most appropriate response is;
      a. “If someone asks, I’ll only tell them you had an office appointment.”
      b. “Be assured in knowing that I don’t discuss or share any patient information outside of the office.”
      c. “Trust me, I’ll only tell my husband.”
      d. “This is such happy news, it should be shared.”
      e. “You should be very happy about this.
      This question presents a situation in which you must decide the best way to respond. It is testing your ability to recognize your professional responsibility in ensuring that a patient’s needs are appropriately met.
      Last, but not certainly not least, remember to relax! You’ve been studying hard and you know the answers. If you feel yourself tensing up during your examination, here’s a little technique that works. Lick your lips and inhale quietly and slowly through your mouth. Concentrate on that cool sensation you get-----it’s relaxing. Now get back to the examination with a more relaxed and open mind. You know the answers; use your knowledge and logical thinking!
      Content Outline of Examination
      Approximately 41%: General KnowledgeAnatomy and physiology (A&P), medical terminology, medial law and ethics,human relations, patient education.
      Approximately 24%: Administrative KnowledgeInsurance, financial and bookkeeping, medical receptionist/secretarial/clerical, etc.
      Approximately 35%: Clinical KnowledgeAsepsis, sterilization, instruments, vital signs and mensurations, physical examinations, clinical pharmacology, minor surgery, therapeutic modalities, laboratory procedures, EKG, first aid, etc

      Fantasia Nealy if you are doing it the NHA make sure to at least do one practice test because it will tell you what you need to study in, and TH-cam order of draw cause the test has scenarios for when you would use them
