@@Amatsuichi That's because of the way she does it. On that first on I thought she would just flash the coordination sequence, but instead she statics it. On that last on she just easily pinches and campuses what the others could barely hold on to. A freak of nature in the most positive way.
To admit to calling someone Lucy Liu because you’re too lazy to figure out how to pronounce their name properly on live television is embarrassing 🤦♀️
Janja Garnbret is on another level, makes it look sooo easy in walls that no many elite atlethes can complete, smashing every competition. Also loved Camilla Moroni, she is so strong and patient
Why? The broadcasters didn’t invent the name? is there reason to believe zhilu is offended by it? When the broadcasters do (try to) pronounce her name they pronounce it pretty well. And if her non-chinese speaking fans and others have this at her pet name, would there really be something inherently wrong with that? When would a nickname for a non-english speaker than be appropriate or never? Just genuinely interested in people’s ideas about this.
@@10freekie2 dude I thought it was something close to her name and it was far from it. So if it was an Asian man with the last name Chan and they couldn’t pronounce the first name, so they Jsut called him Jackie Chan, that would be ok? It not that big of a deal for me, I am just very surprised how comfortable they said it and jokingly. They didn’t even try to say her first name.
@@10freekie2 it's racism. it's lazy. they could have looked it up but didn't bother. mad disrespect. if she had a nickname that would be fine, but they didn't even bother to do the research.
No smiles in china? I love watching the climbers being challenged. Janja just makes most climbs look easy. Every climber is fantastically healthy and beautiful. Bravo and keep climbing from Alabama USA
You know how during the Olympics it is sometimes proposed that we let ordinary people compete as well just to see how badly they would do so we could appreciate the performances of the top athletes better? That's kind of how it feels watching Janja Garnbret effortlessly flash boulders noone else even got the zone on.
Comment for less edit (I enjoy all the comp, even with the cringe inducing commentary by Matt, but co-commentary is always interesting!) And I recommend/would love for you to stream the semifinals! Thanks for everything! I think we all massively appreciate what you do! 🤟
I have been searching for the semi-final for women of this event, I saw that's included in men's video. Wonder if it's okay to upload the women semi-final Keqiao as well? Thanks a lot
Seeing Janja so far away from the entire rest of the womans field, i wonder how well she does on these newer superhard boulders like burden of dreams and the like. Or how she would do in the mens competition. Clearly the womens comp is not really a competition at this point.
I think some like Natalia Grossman and Brooke Raboutou didn’t come to this competition and instead opted to keep prepping and do the Salt Lake City comp instead
As mentioned by one of the commentators some climbers choose to compete in Salt Lake instead of China, so maybe some were there? Not sure who were the finalist in the previous cup.
Score is based on number of tops, then zones, top attempts and zone attempts. On the last boulder they calculated what score she would hypothetically need to reach a certain placement. If she had completed the boulder in 8 or less attempts she would have placed first and if she had gotten the zone hold in 9 attempts she would be on the podium (provisionally).
watching Janja flash what the other climbers couldn't do in 4 minutes is absolutely unreal
insane
I always expect her to do it, yet always get surprised and amazed when she does indeed do it :)
I could agree but she does that every time 😂💪
By now it's the 'show us the beta' moment

I would love to see Janja on some mens final problems! I bet she would crush
Most of female problems are so boring.
@@Hlidskialf i get it, you've never been touched by a woman
If you felt like you already watched this comp: You probably did, it took place in April :D
Lol I kept thinking I saw this before and thought I was losing it ty😂
Good reason as any to again see Janja ignore the paddle dyno
I was first thinking, man...they need to be more original with the route setting. Clued in and just watched Yanya's climbs. 😊
it's always amazing how unmatched janja is. incredible strength.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one to be a little bit appalled by that comment ^^
I saw Rrrucy Rruu like how a chinaman would say it
@@jp2135744 the pronunciation is no way any native speaker would use, very off
yeah that's really sad. it's not even that difficult to pronounce, you just have to take 10 seconds to look it up
yeah that is called racism right there. it would not be that hard to figure out how to pronounce her name. really not ok.
That Lucy Liu comment... *sigh*
Thank you SO much for these videos. They make these incredible competitions much more watchable for those of us with less time!

Janja among the competitors...
Hmm... Have no idea who will win today.
thanks for the upload!!
and to the ifsc, bring Alex back to comment hehe
Janja is simply unbelievable. An athlete of the century. She is already a legend. Like Maradonna or Tyson when they were still active.
The Lucy Liu comment is a real problem.
😬 ikr
Can you explain?
Thank you!! I hardly believed my ears.
@@G.Giorgio It can feel like making fun of her name. Also not making any effort to try to pronounce the name and just making up a "nickname".
@@23Zakira it depends on if she is okay with it or not I would say
janja is just so insanely above everyone... unless she's out of commission you're only ever really competing for second place
thanks for the video, love you guys
Hermosa mi Janja como siempre. ❤
dude... Lucy liu? her name not even close to that. gotta change this broadcaster and whoever approved of that

It's just disrespectful. She is a finalist in this competition. Give her name an ounce of respect and figure out the phonetics.

It looks pretty close to me... Luo Zhilu. Say it fast, then get over it.
visual glitch around 10 min
btw I really like those 2 commentators, they have a good synergy and are knowledgeable (except on how to pronounce names...)
Thanks for video!
That was incredible to watch, thank for all the involved😊
this woman is on another level...
Brava brava Camilla Moroni 👏

janja is insane, made first boulder look easy
I did quite a lot of Judo when I was younger.
Tape never held there either :)
petra klingler should apoligize for the lucy lui comment... her commentating is a bit catty in general ....
Janja seeing a paddle dyno:
- No, i don't think i will

Janja is built different.
Some really nice problems to solve there
This was aired one month ago.
Janja is so strong

On one hand, it's a treat to watch Janja climb, on the other though, she kills all the excitement in these competitions.
Janja - Terminator
얀야는 진짜 클라스가 다르네 너무 쉬워보이게 함
Janja needed less than 4 minutes for all 4 boulders.
Where's Alex Honnold as a commentator?
yeah we loved alex ^^ but these two are amazing as well ❤
👍👍
Having Petra in the commentary booth is both the best and the worst, i was really hoping to see her in the final :((
Uhhh dunno about that nickname for zhilu luo 😬 maybe let's retire that one yeah? Yikes.
Is Janja Garnbret human?
Wow none of the finalists of the previous cup made it to these finals 😯 how bizarre

Ah yes, makes sense I guess
Why is Zhilu Luo any more difficult to pronounce than Janja Garnbret? They say that fine. Ridiculous.
The female commentator calling Zhilu "Lucy Liu" is racist ngl.
Yeah didn’t like this at all :( shouldn’t be hard to learn how to correctly pronounce names
also saying that while commentating on their home arena? what a low kind of thing to do.
It’s also just disrespectful lol learn to pronounce it
You brain is full of bullshit about racism.
to be fair it is an easier way to say "lou zhilu" so they're not just making up an easier name to say
Where is Ai Mori?
"a zone in 9 and a top in 8"
How does that work? 😅
