  • The 13th edition of the African Games concluded in Ghana with a vibrant closing ceremony that celebrated the sporting achievements of the participating nations. As the eventful 16 days in Accra, Kumasi, and Cape Coast came to a close, Egypt emerged as the overall champions once again, reaffirming their dominance in continental sports. With a total of 101 gold medals among their 189-medal haul, Egypt showcased their sporting prowess on the grand stage. However, it was Nigeria that captured the attention, as they secured the second position in the medal tally.
    With a remarkable performance across various disciplines, Nigerian athletes clinched a total of 120 medals, including 47 gold, 33 silver, and 40 bronze. This impressive feat reflected Nigeria's commitment to excellence in sports and highlighted the talent and dedication of its athletes. South Africa claimed the third spot in the overall standings, while Algeria and Tunisia rounded out the top five. Despite a slow start, Ghana rallied to secure a respectable sixth position, demonstrating their resilience and competitive spirit throughout the event.
