Yes, I think he wisely references Daechwita because he's aware that he's dealing with a version of the same struggle/inner demon, but as you said, he's got a different perspective on it now cuz he's matured and lived more. I feel like USUALLY, there are things in our lives that we deal with, and we might deal with them at some point and "defeat" that inner demon, but many times they come back around in some form or another, and in this case, Agust D is dealing with that same inner struggle from before....But his current self is even MORE forceful and ready to deal with it, and does so gleefully and aggressively. At the end, when he's in the cop car and goes to the restaurant, he's got the suit coat (and maybe the pants) of the Detective Yoongi he killed, got that Detective Yoongi's cops giving him a ride in a cop car, going where he says go, and then he sits down and eats with the same chopsticks that he used to start the whole process of luring the Detective Yoongi to him (and also the same chopsticks that killed the thing he hates are the ones he needs to sustain his own life by eating) ...... he's taken the good useful things from the Detective Yoongi. i.e, incorporated what good he could learn from this struggle into his life, and destroyed the bad things.

Wow...Love this !!!! You go Suga!!!! Lyrics are unbelievable. The background set; rooster, bicycle, tangerines, punching bag, gold fish... Am I reading too much into it? But I don't think Suga would just let the set decorators put random things around without checking it. The visual images are too important to him. (Same henchman?) There may be others?..I've only watched it 9 times so far. My interpretation up til now: (I love BTS videos) Suga in suit ...crooked detective? He felt it may be causing confusion by some in the west. He says that freedom in Korean is something you can do as long as it doesn’t harm anyone else. Bangjong is acting freely in a reckless way that can harm others. AgustD is talking about a freedom that doesn’t harm anyone else. (I do not speak Korean but after checking out other translations it seems correct.)

This song and the mv had me in a chokehold. Not only did Yoongi's acting get MUCH better (and he was already literally a pro), but the entire cinematography backs it up. The song is a banger, no doubt. HAEGEUM is a traditional instrument, but it also means release from prohibition. The mv is so fascinating. In Daechwita, he killed the blond Agust D because he was too corrupt with anger and resentment. Agust D couldn't take it anymore. But in Haegeum the Agust D scar ended up as corrupted as the blonde Agust D. It's interesting that the new Agust D basically started the mv by killing a person and ending with the memory of it. Agust D is a trilogy because Yoongi was finally able to unite with Suga and Agust D. They are no longer apart because he learned to embrace all of his feelings. In this MV, the new Agust D. is a vigilante and violent villain because that's what Agust D is. But instead of just killing the scarred Agust D, who in this narrative, is a corrupt secret agent, (as happened to the blonde Agust D), he ALSO burned the money scar that Agust D had. My interpretation is that this whole mv revolves around FREE SPEECH, which may not be correct. 🤣. Finally, cheers to SUGA for yet another unique work of art.👏❤

This one (MV and song) doesn't top Daechwita for me, but, then again, that bar is set very, very high. Whereas in the Daechwita MV, it's clear that the good guy defeats the bad guy, in this one, the storyline is more confusing. I actually prefer the Road to DDay live performance of Haegeum because of the musicians playing the traditional instruments. Impressive. 💜
I think the message in this is that agust d always becomes greedy and drunk on power after some time, so he kills him off. Also, the bad version of him laughing in his face before he gets shot symbolizes to me that the „bad“ agust d will always be a part of himself. I love love LOVE how multileveled haegum is. I love all of his work as Agust D so much.

So that's what i am going to do. Powerful song. I like that we continue the story from Daechwita. But this song is more violent. Geez. He is such a savage! I liked it. Good rhythm. Suga is a visual. So Haegeum means allowing/unlocking something that was forbidden. His whole album is overflowing with his emotions, and not only does he talk to himself in his album, he talks directly to the listener (especially with one particular song, where it almost feels like he breaks the 'fourth wall'. I've experienced it via a movie before, but never by song, until now) there are ARMY translator accounts on Twitter, so if you want to listen to his album on Spotify or Apple music etc, you can have the lyrics pulled up to help you understand what he is expressing 💜

Haegeum has two meanings. The first is a traditional Korean stringed instrument used in this music "this song's a haegeum", and the second, as the lyrics say, "a new kind of haegeum" means "unlock".

Regarding lyrics- Just saw an interesting video from a Korean channel and he was saying in Eastern philosophy and thought there is “freedom” and “bangjong”. He felt it may be causing confusion by some in the west. He says that freedom in Korean is something you can do as long as it doesn’t harm anyone else. Bangjong is acting freely in a reckless way that can harm others. AgustD is talking about a freedom that doesn’t harm anyone else. (I do not speak Korean but after checking out other translations it seems correct.)

hey man, you should definitely react to quadeca!! his best songs are definitely: born yesterday, tell me a joke, and fantasyworld. he was a youtuber and rapper, but completey destroyed the stigma and made a beautiful album about him dying and watching his family try to cope with his death. he's a very alternative and eerie but soulful sound, and produces everything himself. check him out!

This song and the mv had me in a chokehold. Not only did Yoongi's acting get MUCH better (and he was already literally a pro), but the entire cinematography backs it up. The song is a banger, no doubt. HAEGEUM is a traditional instrument, but it also means release from prohibition. The mv is so fascinating. In Daechwita, he killed the blond Agust D because he was too corrupt with anger and resentment. Agust D couldn't take it anymore. But in Haegeum the Agust D scar ended up as corrupted as the blonde Agust D. It's interesting that the new Agust D basically started the mv by killing a person and ending with the memory of it. Agust D is a trilogy because Yoongi was finally able to unite with Suga and Agust D. They are no longer apart because he learned to embrace all of his feelings. In this MV, the new Agust D. is a vigilante and violent villain because that's what Agust D is. But instead of just killing the scarred Agust D, who in this narrative, is a corrupt secret agent, (as happened to the blonde Agust D), he ALSO burned the money scar that Agust D had. My interpretation is that this whole mv revolves around FREE SPEECH, which may not be correct. 🤣. Finally, cheers to SUGA for yet another unique work of art.👏❤

This one (MV and song) doesn't top Daechwita for me, but, then again, that bar is set very, very high. Whereas in the Daechwita MV, it's clear that the good guy defeats the bad guy, in this one, the storyline is more confusing. I actually prefer the Road to DDay live performance of Haegeum because of the musicians playing the traditional instruments. Impressive. 💜
I think the message in this is that agust d always becomes greedy and drunk on power after some time, so he kills him off. Also, the bad version of him laughing in his face before he gets shot symbolizes to me that the „bad“ agust d will always be a part of himself. I love love LOVE how multileveled haegum is. I love all of his work as Agust D so much.

I feel like its a continuation of Deachwita. The previous August D killed the August D that was a mad king and he took his place as the king here as a mob boss. And now in here the new August D from D-Day era is killing Deachwita era one. At least that’s how I see it😂 great reaction. I love Suga and his rapping. The full album is just AMAZING.
