I also love Marjolein Bastin and have a couple of her patterns too. I enjoy some of the same things as you. I love being able to see your stitching of the designs.
I love your finished bird piece. I think it would look beautiful framed and hung over your sofa. Even though you have tape residue on the edges of your piece, I bet your framer could work around that. The edges won't show anyway. Many people say they never have trouble with tape, but I won't risk ruining one of my projects by using it. Sweetheart Tree is one of my favorite designers. Their designs always look so elegant. Your "Today is a Good Day" piece is lovely. The Rhodes hearts add just the right touch. I look forward to watching more of your videos. -Kathy
Hi Kathy, thanks for watching! and for reminding me of that piece. Someone had suggested turning it into a wall hanging and i may have a go at that :) Hope you enjoy my videos and happy stitching!
I think you may be the first person I know who watched Maya - or Maia as she is in Italian. I can't tell you how ridiculously happy it makes me every time I see her.
Thanks for sharing your stitching journey with us. I especially like your Marjolein Bastin project. If those taped edges really bug you, go ahead and cut them off - it's not great to have that sticky substance on your fabric anyway, it attracts bugs (or maybe just helps them STICK around, hahaha) . If you do some day frame that piece, you'll definitely have enough fabric for framing. See you in your next video!
wow i actually never thought of just cutting off the tape! doh! haha i will definitely do that. And i was cleaning out the attick and found a mirror frame which may actually fit that piece so maybe it'll become an ffo soon :) :)
thank you :) yea the growth charts (thank you for giving me the correct term!) were fun to do and my nieces totally loved them, it was so nice to see the look of surprise on their face when i gave it to them! The oldest one actually wore it as a cape the whole day haha :)
the linnen was actually not bad on this kit, i can't remember having issues with big slubs or anything, it was pretty even. So don't feel too scared :)
A Stitch Too Far - just started the 'Believe there is good' piece. I think this is the year when everyone will be putting up good words all over their walls! I have one already that says, "Be Kind" from Primative Stitcher.
Sound like a good idea! I'm currently gathering some projects with quotes and saying to try an make a collage with whenever i eventually get around to them :)
have you thought about putting your evenweave projects, that is to big to be framed, into a bedspread. i think it would be neat to gather projects together and create a sort of mish mash cross-stitch bedspread
Hi Susan! That's a great idea! I will definitely have a look and see if i can find a niice border or something for it to make it into a table runner :) Happy stitching!

Gosh your pillows are gorgeous too!

Hi Otte, Maya was very popular when I was a kid in the 70-s, and is again with my little nieces, although Maya has been modernised quite a bit :P

thanks! I liked working on it, even though it was in the middle of summer :)
I need to get more comfortable working on linen. I like to do a couple of the table runners and some pillow cases.
the linnen was actually not bad on this kit, i can't remember having issues with big slubs or anything, it was pretty even. So don't feel too scared :)
