    It's still a decent laptop if anyone is wondering about gaming it will let you connect to steam for your Chromebook just need to sign up for the free Gforce but only certain games, it won't give you, your whole list of games just the ones that are able to be playable on it. So you don't have to rely on games on the playstore to only play with. I've used it to play league of legends half life doom Fortnite but yeah it reminds me of an ipad but with some extra cool stuff but not as powerful as a PC but close enough. Best part is obviously the battery and it doesn't get heated like most laptops. It's pretty much a fancy iPad. $328.00 full price at Walmart.

    ...Here's the thing. Clearly all these new 2021 Asus Chromebooks are horrendously overpriced for what you pay for, and it's not just Asus.
    Everything is a decade old. Dim washed out HD screen, the slowest ram and storage available, USB 2.0 and a 3 year old chip for this price?
    I would strongly recommend a Tablet any day over Chromebook for anyone on a budget looking for a light PC.
    You can find a used *Galaxy Tab S6 Lite* - a Premium Android tablet from Samsung, for just *$150 USD* on eBay. It has:
    - Similar feel and experience to the $800 iPad Air
    - Blazing fast components and SoC, no visible lag or stutters whatsoever.
    - Comes with Samsung DEX that enables desktop mode like ChromeOS and connects to multiple displays
    - Samsung consistently rolls out software updates 2 years later, now on Android 11. (This is why you buy Samsung if you're going Android)
    If Google wants Chromebooks to be taken seriously in both Learning and Work environments, they really need to get their shit together and work on bringing the price down by having their own line of Chromebooks, supporting other Major OEMs, and developing usable, fully-featured, pro-level Android Apps for Chrome OS. And they need to mature their in-house ARM chip fast. This current strategy, marketing for schools and small-businesses to briefly transition into Chromebooks simply isn't going to cut it when the pandemic is finally over.
    It's such a shame, because Chrome OS is the best potential "Ecosystem" Google has ever made but Google is at a war with itself trying to focus on 5 different Operating Systems at once. They need to merge current Android into Chrome OS, take control, and put Chrome OS on Premium ARM devices like Samsung, Lenovo, Huawei, and Xiaomi's tablets instead of Android so that more people will use it, not just those who are in tight budget. Or they will have no chance at all against Apple, who I predict will completely take over this market in 5 years.

    • @SahilKumar-zp8fx
      @SahilKumar-zp8fx 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      not their fault, it's best mediatek chip available for chromebooks right now.

    • @TischTosh
      @TischTosh 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's a nitpick but Tab 6 lite only has USB-C 2,so it won't output to an external monitor. What you're describing is: the Samsung S5e

    • @mini9503
      @mini9503 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TischTosh Samsung finally added DEX support with a recent update (people have been asking for DEX on the Lite series), the USB-C 2.0 port does come with a DisplayPort functionality, albeit limited. Now I see no reason to recommend the old S5e over the S6 Lite.

    I bought the Lenovo Duet a few months ago and I'm experiencing buyers remorse.
    I have a larger Chromebook and wanted something to carry around and be my road computer. I do a lot of writing on my Chromebook and while I can take the cramped keyboard on the Duet, the experience of trying to keep it stable on your lap is really punishing. I bought a lap desk to carry around withe Duet to make it bearable but now I have two things I have to carry.
    I fear I'll be divesting myself of the Duet and will get this Asus. I have had two Asus Chromebook Flips (including my beloved C100). I know I'll lose some money on the Duet, but the thought of dealing with how cumbersome the Duet can be is just too much.
    In the end, I guess I'm less of a tablet guy and more of a laptop man.

    • @ClockworkBard
      @ClockworkBard 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I felt the same way getting the Duet at launch to replace a busted C101. The market is full to busting with 13"+ bricks, so I was excited to get another 10", but detachables just do not fit my needs. I kept the Duet, because I still find uses for a near weightless ChromeOS tablet with 16 hours of battery life, but it can never be my workhorse.
