On June 18th 2024 I was in the small Greenlandic town Kangerlussuaq, previously known as Søndre Strømfjord and U.S. Military Base Bluie West Eight.
This is currently the only airport in Greenland able to accommodate large jet planes, and is therefore the main hub for travelers going to other parts of Greenland.
I was stuck in town as the weather at my destination was bad and Air Greenland had several planes with technical problems.
Therefore, I spent my time going for a walk.
It was not my first time in Kangerlussuaq. I think I have been there approx. 8 times in total, but this is the first time I walked over to the main part of town on the other side of the airport.
On my way there, I met some children who were very curious. We had some trouble communicating as I don't speak Greenlandic, and they don't speak Danish at home. But it was a very interesting interaction with some local kids, and I would love to have more interactions like this with locals.
I apologize that this is not truly a silent video like we're used to on this channel, but I didn't want to cut out the heartwarming interaction with the children.

Thanks! Yes, I do know about the live cams. I work in the Greenlandic tourism industry, and the cams are a vital tool :)

@@PeaceWalk_ Oh, cool. I guess business is about to be booming for you, if it wasn't already. Exciting times! GA just shut down all their channel chats and disappointed people worldwide. It's a real shame.
