My grandpa had a coin holder similar to the inside mechanism. It was not a turtle it was acrylic back when you didn’t need to carry too many coins lol the turtle is super cool!

Dear Thelma. Your little Turtle is a perfume sachet. They would soak the perfume on the little sponge and put it under the clip for a quick freshen up of their scent during the day or evening.

The turtle is made for scent pads. They are fairly new and you drop a few drops of your perfume onto it and it lasts longer then if it were to be on your skin or cloths.

The coin is a facsimile of a Turkish coin with the signature of the sultan, known as a Tughra. It is a souvenir costume bracelet. I saw loads of them while living in Turkey.
