- Here's a simple doughnut recipe based on your ingredients:
1. Warm the Milk: Heat 120 ml of milk until it's lukewarm, not too hot. Mix in 30 grams of sugar and 5 grams of dry yeast. Let it sit for about 10 minutes, or until the yeast becomes foamy.
2. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, sift together 300 grams of flour and 2 grams of salt. This ensures an even distribution of salt in the dough.
3. Mix Wet Ingredients: Add the yeast mixture to the flour. Also, add 1 egg and mix everything together until combined.
4. Add Butter: Gradually add 30 grams of softened butter to the dough mixture. Knead the dough either by hand or with a mixer fitted with a dough hook for about 8-10 minutes, until it's smooth and elastic. If the dough feels sticky, sprinkle in a little more flour, but be cautious not to add too much.
5. Let it Rise: Form the dough into a ball and place it in a greased bowl. Cover with a damp towel or plastic wrap and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 to 1.5 hours, or until the dough has doubled in size.
6. Shape the Doughnuts: Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface to about 1/2 inch (1.3 cm) thickness. Cut out doughnut shapes using a doughnut cutter or two round cutters (one large for the outer ring, one small for the center).
7. Second Rise: Place the cut doughnuts on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Cover with a towel and let them rise for another 30-45 minutes until they puff up slightly.
8. Fry the Doughnuts: Heat oil in a deep fryer or a large pot to 175°C (350°F). Fry the doughnuts in small batches for about 1-2 minutes on each side, until golden brown. Transfer them to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
