I have my old ice skates from my youth. I hang them on my old wooden snow sled (also from my childhood) and place on our front porch every Christmas, since we've been married, 45 years. Over the years I have added a greenery swag to the middle of the sled, white lights, a cascade of small bells and ribbon opposite the skates. It sounds like alot on there but everyone loves it. I love the the idea of simply hanging your skates on the pegs in your room--like you just came in from skating. Also love the green yarn sppols that are shaped like trees! Great ideas. Great treasures. A burgundy and hunter green plaid would be pretty on your bed. Thanks for sharing. The garland looks beautiful!!
I was (soundlessly) screaming "no" to the red throw and pillows! Ha! I love all the other things-especially the skates and the garland! I can't believe how much difference the frame to your canvas made-wonderful!!
When my mom passed away I found a suitcase like in your bedroom. The suitcase was filled with love letters from my dad to my mom. That was a treasure I will always keep. And I loved the suitcase to.
As soon as you showed the new red things on your bed, I noticed that you added a frame to your canvas print. MUCH better now! I like how it has a presence to it without overpowering anything. I have no doubt that you will find just the right red-burgundy color you want.
Green is one of my favorite colors and I was silently cheering for you to go with the green throw. But, I definitely agree that a burgundy-type red will also be gorgeous.

Just absolutely love the way you decorated your bedroom and also agree that those red pillows and throw just don't work in your space. Concerning the Christmas curtains. You could add a panel on side of your existing ones on the inside . Then pull them across the existing outer panels and hook them on a Christmas themed tie back hook so the Christmas panels fan outward across the existing panels . Both are nuetral colors so they would look good together.
Everything looks gorgeous. I agree with you on the pillows and throw. They just don't flow with the room. Definitely too bright and as you said, Don't settle for less than you want. You might even find what you are looking for among the regular throws and pillows. ❤❤❤❤❤

I can relate to the Xmas stuff! I have at least 7 huge bins just for wreaths and florals in storage and another 3 bins in my basement!! I have moved it all 3x!

I love the hunter greens with cream and woods and brass... the red is interfering with the cozy winter vibe for me. But I love your style and all the other choices.
My favorite is the garland..really the whole bed area and the frame made the picture look so much better. The burgundy will look not so bright even though I am definitely a red girl. Looking forward to what else you come up with. The Louisiana home was always so pretty also.

Look in the tablecloth, placemat, areas at Walmart, and homegoods for maroon material.
Maybe some Christmas plaid would look good.

I was actually in Borger which is an hour north of Amarillo but no one knows where that is. The thrift was AMAZING around that town
