I think this is such a healthy mindset to have with collecting, you dont need to have everything and collecting doesn’t equal love, especially with bts prices good luck selling everything
this might be insensitive to say, but i’m obscenely fascinated with how much all this must be worth. like obv as you’re collecting it you don’t consider it as much, unless you’re trying to get your hands on one of those rarer items, but together in a bulk + with a group as coveted as bts i feel like you could pay the down payment for a car
nowadays collecting for bts is so hard that its no longer fun, which is why I also stopped collecting for them. I'm glad you're doing well and I'm also glad you decided to do whats best for you!
Don't worry, we understand. I used to get stressed over trying to catch up on their content because they have so much stuff out there... However, now I just resort to watching whatever content they uploaded and enjoying it at the moment (and this is coming from a 7-year-old ARMY)! The same goes for streaming. I leave one day open for streaming and the rest of the week, I just enjoy the music in my own time. I do this with other groups as well. It's just much more enjoyable and healthy this way. These things are like hobbies, they should be bringing us joy, not stress lol. 😂😅

Just wanted to say, I've had this exact conversation with a roommate recently about collecting Jungkook. It breaks my heart because he's my ult of ults but no one trades him for anything. Pretty much everyone has caught on to the fact they can just sell their JK, buy their member, and pocket the change. It sucks and it has completely sucked the joy out of collecting him. I'm glad you're doing what makes you happy!
When I realized I was dreading merch/content drops instead of being excited because I was stressed about collecting pcs, I knew it was time to make a change. And when you feel like you're fighting against the entire community for a single card, it makes life so frustrating. Hobbies shouldn't be stressful lol!
Your channel was one of the first I found when I got into collecting, so I'm very grateful to you for that back then. You and your mental health are always the most important thing. I'm happy to see where you go with collecting other groups. 🙂💓

I still collect vmin but I will say that it is a different feeling than when I collect for Yeonjun. Though he’s a little up there too its still seems different and more relaxed which I like. Collecting is a hobby and should never become something stressful or felt as if it’s a chore to have to do. As long as you’re happy with your collection then that’s all that matters and f*ck what anyone else says. And I understand about content because sometimes when you do one thing so much and many latch onto that it’s like you’re branded to only do that one thing but it should never be like that. i honestly understand. I love JK but I dropped BTS too for the same reason. I kept my fave pcs of his and sold the rest. I still buy their albums but I just keep who I pull now. I find collecting txt and skz so much more fun. Yeonjun non album can be a bit expensive sometimes but not jungkook level usually. I also bias huening kai tho and he's a joy to collect. I was worried about dropping BTS bc I felt like a fake army but idc now what anyone else says I know I still love them and JK the same, the community just makes collecting him too overwhelming and stressful

I only collect OT7 for album PCs and only JK and YG for more inclusions like dvds or memories. I miss 2018/2019 pc prices 😔..... I'm OT7 collector and have struggled the past year finding joy in it, mostly because of the prices. If I don't pull JK, JM or Tae then I immediately feel defeated. I noticed I was starting to feel resentful and that was impacting how I felt about the boys. I downsized and will only keep what I pull unless I really need to have something. Its so much less stressful, and I'm happier focusing more on their music. It's also allowed me to explore other groups I didn't otherwise make time for. I think you made the right decision 💜

I get that mindset thinking you HAVE to have everything, I never even bothered to collect the tour pcs bc to be honest I don't think I'd have much enjoyment in collecting them but there have been occasions where I have been tempted to collect them just for the sake of "completing" my collection. My album pc collection is complete and for anything non album regarding hobi I take it very slowly and prioritize the pcs I really want, it is much less stressful that way!
all these downsizing videos make me realize that the way i collect my astro pcs is perfectly fine lol because sometimes i do feel pressured to actually collect them all.. my collection is very minimalistic, i do collect OT6 but my (for me) complete astro collection of 8 albums completely fits into a small 3 pocket page binder (and i still have alot of space left in there).. i'm happy as long as i have 1 pc for each member for each album, so i'm always almost done with one album collection just with my pulls alone since i keep them all anyways.. for me i just don't see the need to own every single pc there is, i wouldn't even have the money to get them all to begin with lol
As a collector, i changed my mindset from "let me try to collect OT7" to "Ill just put whichever member I get into my binder" i dont really seek and try to collect the whole set anymore, its exhausting to collect all the members, especially the maknae line. Unless you pull the maknae line yourself, youll have a hard time finding their stuff at a good price. So now for Proof i only pulled Joon and Jimin and stuck them in my binder 😂 but atleast i wont go broke trying to collect all of them. Sometimes if i get duplicates i do trade

I was same in 2021 I just decided I was just not happy not getting joy collecting them I decided to give up on bts I don't regret it i know I made so many people happy who loved my pcs albums dvds more then I did I'm same do what makes you happy what is good for you ❤

I had to downsize my hobi collection a bit recently and make decisions on how I’m collecting him moving forward because of how much they release.. it can get overwhelming quite quickly and a lot of it just isn’t worth it tbqh!
thanks! it's really hard to decide to downsize, but ultimately it helps free you from feeling obligated to buy every single thing and complete every template, which I think is really what wears people down. plus I ended up with so much random junk in my house lol...how many velcro wallets and such can a person need??? 😂

glad to see you back. also glad u took a break. i know collecting and videoing can be rough and stressful. you downgraded alot but whatever makes you happy is best. im sure some of those photocards will be worth more now then when you originally bought them i bet. gonna be someone very excited to buy stuff. since im sure alot of things are very hard to find now. i used to collect ot7 photocards but the fake ones cause i cant afford real ones. but i stopped doing that as well. i felt it was a waste to continue. so i just keep whatever photocards i get even if they arent ones i want. im always hoping for Jk though lol.
I support your choice but I personally think you are crazy for getting rid of the ot7 and your full collections of Jk and Suga. I think you will regret it later.

Yeah, I noticed that too. Probably because Hybe is releasing so much merch lately (it's hard to keep up and shipping is really expensive most of the time), the price difference between Hyung and Maknae line is getting bigger, photocards are getting more expensive and if you want to trade you either have to trade at the beginning or it is kinda hard to find a trade and if you collect JK it's impossible to find one at all. I feel like a lot of bts collectors needed at least one break the last few months, including me xd
