    I finally got around to upgrading the fuel pump, the original one wasn't broken but it was probably pushing it's limits so I upgraded it!
    It wasn't such a hard job but did require some special tools and some of the clips were difficult.
    I went with the Ti Automotive (WALBRO) 460LPH pump as I have a WALBRO in tank pump in my Silvia and have never had a problem with it.
    I found the fuel pump ring removal tool on eBay and the 7.89mm ID6 90 degree quick connector.
    Thanks for watching!!!

    Go hard enjoy e85 mixes! Not old walbro.
    Ti automotive made walbro pumps for ever. Around 3 years ago ti announced they will be putting there own name on the pumps and change names and part numbers. ti 267 has a relief valve around 90psi, ti 274 has relief vslve around 115psi both same flow 460lph. Anyone saying walbro this or that is well behind.

      Yeah, I'm on the E50 tune now, putting abit more than half e85 to a tank, about 3 parts E85 to 2 parts 98.
      Thanks for your input, I'm kinda old school now I guess hah, most of the work I did on my Silvia was between 2004 and 2008, and it was a Walbro 255lph in tank pump with a Bosch 044 external from the surge tank which I still run.
      It's always good to learn a little more, thank you! ☺

    Good stuff i've got a TI F90000295 535LPH waiting to go in. Any concerns about not running stock venturi?

    • @ScubaMade
      @ScubaMade  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That should be sweet!!
      So far so good, I think with the cracks and holes I made in the bucket the stock venturi shouldn't matter to much, I think there's another venturi on the other side of the tank that pushes fuel back to the bucket through those 2 little black hoses, or back from the regulator or something, I'm still learning about it all as I go!
      I'm taking the car to the track on Friday Night for a little practice, it will be my first time on the racetrack in 12 years!!! Will see if the car hold up to the abuse!

      I’ve got a spare one left over too, I have the PTFE hose and I think I’ve still got some clamps too.

      So maybe I should make a little kit with the clamps and the hose and the 90° quick connector! And find out how much to send it over the pond !

    You need to move the steering wheel to the other side.

      Haha I used to live in Canada for awhile but not anymore so the steering wheel is on the right side of the car for me!

    You didn't cut the lower part of the pump and you didn't use the venturi. It will be most probably like this: Everything is working fine until you have some longer hard revs..... and then you are running out of fuel due to the fact that not enough fuel is in the bucket... it takes to long that the bucket is refilling itself through the existing and small opening in the bottom of the bucket. A few seconds later everything is running again. It simply takes a while that enough fuel is comimg back into the bucket. Therefore I recommend you to take the bucket out and cut the lower part off. ( OR to build the pump/bucket with the venturi.). In worst case you damage your engine if you stay like this.

      @ScubaMade  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for your input, I'm still learning about all this and I'm taking the car to the track tomorrow night to test it. Do you think cutting the bottom off the bucket is better, or a hole in the bottom or something?

    • @mwdh
      @mwdh 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ScubaMade Usually the bucketless mod cuts a lot of material away (there is a good how to by the youtube channel "vehicular diy"). If you go on the track with low fuel level you may want to go bucketed with the venturi installed. The disadvantage of the veturi version is that there is a little bit less flow in total (should be still enough for ~580hp on e85) and the mod is more complicated. The advatage is you don't care about your fuel level.

    • @ScubaMade
      @ScubaMade  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I really enjoy the 335I god that is Vehicular DIY on TH-cam, his content is amazing! I think I saw his fuel pump video a while ago and he cut a hole for the filter or something from memory, I try not to let the car go lower than a 1/4 tank ether, the big test will be how I go tomorrow night at the track!

    • @ScubaMade
