    I am only now discovering Bacewicz's music but am enjoying it very much, this piece and this ensemble, in particular. Bravo!

    One of the best compositions by Bacewicz (who incidentally was quite a reserved and formal person so perhaps she would like Ruth Reinhardt's style of directing). Frankfurt Symphony splendid and impeccable (as always). Thank you.

    This is an accomplished and beautiful work, conducted by a musician with obviously the same attributes, performed by one of the finest orchestras. What more could I ask?

    I use to think szmynowski was the greatest 20 th century polish composers but bacewicz is a revalation as is penderecki late period

      Speaking as a conductor, her gestures are clear, efficient and effective, giving the musicians everything they need (especially in a distanced configuration) to make great music, without getting in the way.

    Sounds a lot like Hindemith, but more "accessible".

    Schoenes Stueck, gut gespielt, schoen dirigiert, gut aufgenommen. Kann man den Musikern nicht im 21. Jahrhundert mal einen Teleprompter hinstellen? Dieses "ergriffene Notenzettelumgeblaettere" ist ja nun wirklich albern.

    Khe, khe... To jest muzyka polska a nie JAZZ-DDR (NRDowski JAZZ). Z życiem, panie i panowie, skocznie, tak grają Polacy!

      Maybe it's a bad translation, but this comment comes across as sneery and unnecessary.

    Why bother to mention the conductor in the video, all the others mentioned are far more important.

    • @andrewtaylor5695
      @andrewtaylor5695 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You're right, all the musicians are important, but the one both brings it together and takes the flack if it goes wrong is the conductor.

    In my opinion she doesn't feel this music, instead of having fun and sharing feelings with musicians, she fights with this masterpiece from the very beginning to the very end. Orchestra plays very good, but could much better if they had conductor who is also a good musician not only a metronome...

    • @andrewtaylor5695
      @andrewtaylor5695 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      In my opinion, that's rubbish. Speaking as a conductor and orchestral musician, she gives the players everything they need (both in terms of 'metronome' and stylistically - there's a lot of good stick technique that the untrained eye wouldn't notice), especially in the distanced configuration, without getting in the way. She allows the very fine musicians to make music as a chamber ensemble, and I find the musical result very satisfying.
