What a beautiful women, born in Manhattan but raised on the boarder of Brooklyn (Bushwick) and Queens (Ridgewood). People drive crazy not understanding this.
That’s me too! When I went to college in a different part of Queens everyone would be like where you from and when I would say Ridgewood they would say oh where’s Ridgewood? And then I had to say right near Bushwick and they magically got it
I was a new District Manager for a Community Board in the Bronx and Ms. Allicot was with News 12, The Bronx and she interviewed me. This was the first time I was interviewed for TV. She was kind and engaging. She received her story and she was utterly professional.. She has tremendous people skills. It was a pleasure speaking with her. I wish all journalists could exhibit these skills.
Shirleen Allicot,i am glad you have reached a pinnacle in your life and are from Guyanese ancestry snd happy you mentioned Queens,Ozone Park which is also home of people of Guyana & Trinidad .
I am from Queens, l also have fond memories of Queens, Brooklyn, and NYC . It feels good going back home. I was a little disappointed to find out that my elementary school Saint Gerard Majella is no longer functioning as a school. Good for you going.back home to visit.
Wow! I LOVED THAT STORY! so proud of you and being from the same exact neighborhood as me. I live on top of Rainbow which used to be a bike shop. I didn't go to that school. I went to I.S. 302. I wonder if we ever ran into eachother on cityline. I am So happy you are successful and incorporated alot of the cultural cuisine from your childhood. Stay blessed.
REST IN PEACE Arthur Raymond Chung OE (Chinese: 钟亚瑟; 10 January 1918 - 23 June 2008) was the 1st President of Guyana from 1970 to 1980.[1] He was the first ethnic Chinese (Chinese Caribbean) to be head of state in a non-Asian country.[2] He was honoured with Guyana's highest national honour, the Order of Excellence (O.E.). Chung was a leader in Guyana's fight for independence during the British colonial era. His soul remains with me shirleen allicot I love you, yo MULATTAS. 💖
Wow, Inspiring! especially her last sentence. My parents are from the same background, I'm from the same neighborhood, grew up in both queens & Brooklyn. My family's business was a block away from where she shot this video.... Ozone Park was and is a great neighborhood.
Beautiful and very professional lady. Btw, I just learned (day before yesterday) why Ken Rosato had been fired from ABC. I would've thought he had left for a better job.
