  • In this DIY video we show you how to Change the bumper and fog lights on this Lexus GX470. This DIY project was not in our plans. Sometimes great Vlog material just falls out of the sky and into our palms. The removal of bumpers on most Toyota vehicles is pretty straight forward and will give your 10mm sockets a good work out. The other great thing is damaging your bumper is pretty inexpensive repair, thanks to all the aftermarket parts available today. Happy wrenching and good luck.

    If you undo the little light housing door the whole assembly comes out which is 10x easier. I ended up swapping over the lenses from aftermarket fog lights to the factory housing. Waste of $90 for some clear lenses. Toughest connector on the whole truck I have encountered so far though.

    • @KRTLyfe

      Thanks for watching, I am trying to understand what you mean tho. Once you slide under the car there is only one bolt to undo, takes a few seconds and it just slides out unfortunately getting that electric connector apart is a real struggle.

    • @hennricc-5238
      @hennricc-5238 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@KRTLyfe Say for example if you remove the bulb, you have to open the back of the fog light and the whole bulb pulls out while still being plugged into the harness. When I removed my bumper I just left the fog lights attached because the clip was so hard to undo.

      @@hennricc-5238 oh okay, I understand what you mean now. You are talking about twisting the bulb electric socket out.

    Great video! Thank you! Those headlights are begging to be polished! This would have been the perfect time to do those while the bumper was off, but I'm sure with some masking tape this would be an easy weekend DIY job. Please help brother Carl to get some clear headlights for safe driving at night and some swagger!

    At the end you bought the correct car for you and your habits.....Porsche it is not made for that things as you expected. This can go in every places, has comfortable seats bull bar etc etc......and you have not to modify a BEAUTIFUL Porsche in an awful car as you friend in the video you attached has made.... enjoy it. This is a great car for that use!

      You are a peculiar character, lol I don’t know if it is the language barrier or some sort of lack of understanding of chronological events. In this Vlog I didn’t get a new vehicle my friend did. We have owned our GX470 before we had our 997 and still own our GX470.
      We enjoy your odd comments, but it would be helpful if you at least knew what you are talking about before you comment. At least go back and watch our old vlogs so you understand what is going on LMAO. I just don’t want you to be lost.

    • @KRTLyfe
      @KRTLyfe  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You clearly have not watched any of our vlogs. Except for the ones you like to talk crazy about how you are the only person that knows what is right for a 911. LMAO

    • @TempeMax
      @TempeMax 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Reza, I watch your video for two things: first because you are made them and ask OUR comments, 2nd because I enjoy them. The problem is not our language barrier because I work for an USA company and I speak a ( decent) english to be understood . The problem is related to the fact that if my comments are something that you don’t like you start to complain. You have to accept different opinion from il your. Coming back to the vehicle I think that this is a fantastic off-road car that is most suitable to drive everyday in a street full of bumps holes that has comfortable seats and allow to go off-road better than a 911 For sure. Is this the reason I say this is a more appropriate car for you ( because you said that sold the Porsche because of the facts I reported)
      If you were a person that loves the sports car to drive fast to drive corners to go in circuit sometimes probably your judge of Porsche was different . There are different cars for different approach . Ah , if you continue to say that I’m not know what i’m saying: I live 15 km far from Mugello circuit I live everyday with persons that have and use sports and race car . My cousin was a mechanic of Subaru official team in rally championship and Dakar years ago, I live and visit many times every year morir valley ( lambo Ferrari Pagàni Maserati). ILOVE SPORT CARS and don’t hate the keep or off-road but I don’t love them . But for sure I will never judge a Ferrari or lambo or PORSCHE because the seats or the streets to drive with holes and bumps . In that case I should have not understand the nature of these type of car . Enjoy your Toyota , enjoy what do you want and prefer , but stop to complain of me or something else has different opinion from yours. You are a TH-camr and MUST accept the good and the bad to be that . And comments that are not in line with you have to be accepted . With friendship . Ciao

    might not be a bad idea to do a viper or similiar cut on the front bumper so that the clearance is higher and it can avoid additional damage. Does his make you miss yours?
