This was amazing, I truly enjoyed you were actually taking photographs, and not creating it all in post production. That is truly photography in my mind.
It's Wonderful watching you do serious experimentation and having fun. You get right to the good stuff, and with the help of a few timely edits, without wasting our time. Thanks!
Thanks Jason, what you said I will use as the head line of my channel. This is exactly how I think. 'Get to the good stuff, without wasting your time' Thank a lot man.

I gotta say man... you channel is amazing. Almost all tutorials I see are rigid plans made to get one planned result, with only specific listed gear. I like how we got to see your creative process, with all kinds of materials, and the ideas that made you end up with your result. It won't be long before more people start flocking over to see your tutorials. As for ideas, I saw a photo of a liquor bottle on Fstoppers with a fiery background. I was thinking that you could do something with flames, embers, and sparks.
Thanks for the kind words Patrick. Yes, maybe it's time for some fire again 😀 Thanks for the tip. A flock of people to the channel... that would be nice 👽
I like the way you tease my mind with your '' WHAT IF... LETS SEE WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF..." I will be trying out some of your techniques with lights, angles and placings. Luv watching you do your thing. Thanks for the tutorials.
Holy crap I so love how you use regular things and make it easy to follow the process. Very inspirational for my shoots and for my videos detailing how I do cosplay stuff.

Hi Hendrik, thanks a lot. You mean on the other side of the white wall? Well, it's my neighbour 😁 An American, actually, stand up guy/comedian. My space is like 30 square meters and I pay around $600 per month. If it was on street level it would be the double. I would love to have a higher ceiling, it's the biggest "problem" with my studio. @@botvidsson Hahaha haa very funny ! Well, Martin thank you for letting me know that your neighbour is a stand up comedian and that the opposite side of "The Office's" white wall is painted gray, where ever possible. one more question please, what type of "putty" you use to contain the water on the acrylic ? Your gradient print that you use to reflect really made me attack my next hero shot differently. Thank you for all you're doing.
You mean if you can use a LED instead of flash? Yes you can but you might need to have a strong one and maybe up the ISO and/or lower the shutter speed... if that make sense.
@@botvidsson I meant I can use either of them, but I'm relatively REALLY new to this and i can't find a way to get those creamy coloured reflections through the bottle
Yes absolutely. The only think you can't do with a LED light is to freeze the water drops. If you do exactly like in the video but replace the flash with a LED you need to be in a dark room and use slower shutter speed.
Awesome video! By the way what was the game called the chair flipping game 😂 That looks so awesome with water and the shadows! Keep on with the awesome work 👌
Hehe, why make it easy for yourself 😂 Actually, making waves, dripping water AND trigger... I only have two hands you know, AH! I can trigger the wireless trigger with my foot! Thanks man!
Makes me so happy you liked them, thanks! All subs choice gear you find here: www.botvidsson.se/gear (You don't need to have this thick diff, works also with thinner. You will need a lot of flash power to shoot through the thick one.) Good luck!
It's not the same, Savage is more like plastic, but a cooking paper will work. Only thing.. it might have an off white color tone 😀Can be fixed in post though.
Thanks Mark, you are very kind. Well, I guess it will be long trip, I'm in Stockholm, SWEDEN! You are very welcome to drop by, we can photograph something nice and interesting for the viewers. Thanks again, Martin
Hi Martin, you're the Boss ! I'm about to buy a Savage Translum plastic, I see here you use the heavy type, but, in another video (profoto) you say dont use heavy its too much. I have max 640W flashes. I want the smooth gradients, I'm confused. Ciaoo
Robert Gilbert If you have very powerful flashes it doesn’t matter, heavy works well then BUT it kills much light power. The medium also kills quite much light but will work better for you I think. I just ordered medium and light... will be interesting to see how the light one works. Might be the best of them all. Have not got them yet, but when I do I will make a video... if I have the time.
@@bobmusikk The Light one kills 3/4 stops of light, someone once told me you need minimum 1 stop diffusion not to get a hotspot from the flash, that will lead to an ugly gradient. I need to test myself before I can recommend. The Medium Translum kills 1,5 stops, probably I would go for that one.
Not 100% sure I understand your question. The answer is probably no, I do not care about camera EV, I look at the software's histogram (when shooting tethered) and make sure I don't over or under-expose. Most of all I just look at the image in general and shoot what looks good to me by eye. I never looked at the camera's EV, it will probably always be way underexposed because of my photo style.
