As someone who has been listening to Sleep Token for a few years now, and a musician myself, you nailed it with that description: color. That is essentially this band's bread and butter. Not only do they have a distinct sound that you can pick out of a lineup, their use of "color" allows them to be as emotionally driven and vivid as they are, whilst still being greatly accessible to people who may not consider metal or its subgenres to be their cup of tea.
This band is definitely one of the most innovative, powerful, and awestriking groups I've heard in a while. I'm borderline obsessed with their current catalogue and cannot wait to hear more.
Their new album is the Album of the Year 2021. As expected, no surprise there.
They are just insane.

Hell yeah, A Sad Cartoon has one of my favorite choruses, and Is It Really You is just beautiful af (so is A Sad Cartoon)
Don't apologize for pausing. I personally watch so that I can get your take on things. I can watch the song uninterrupted any other time. Also, the drummer is my favorite part of this band.

I'd love to see you do more Sleep Token. Both albums they've released are phenomenal, so there's no bad choice really! It's amazing that they've managed to stay anonymous too; no one knows who Vessel is yet, although there are a few rumours.

Some of us know, but I appreciate this band so much I will never tell who he is until he reveals himself. All I'm going to say is that he had another musical project before Sleep Token. When you'll stumble upon it, you'll just know. Worship
Unfortunately most people know who he is now as his name has been revealed online….but thankfully it doesn’t detract from the music one bit
@@canran I've seen one "source" that went through like three different people lol before finally settling on the guy they "definitely know" is vessel but afaik that's still just a rumour isn't it? Nowhere has it been outright confirmed?
@@Brunners90 It's pretty much confirmed when you listen to his old stuff. Exact same voice. For me, it doesn't take anything away from the music at all though. I still really, really enjoy them.

Yes! Sleep Token. One of my favorite bands/groups. You helped me understand my love and the draw to their music that I couldnt figure out. You said "Longing" when you mentioned a note and now I get it. I get the pull to the music because of that sound. Thank you for that.
I've never listened to Sleep Token before but I'm definitely gonna check out more. Their voice reminds me of the artist named Eden. He has some great music. Some you should listen to are, Wake Up, rock + roll, and one of his older songs called Drowning under the name Eden Project.
I've listened to their whole discography today.
I'm in love with them, and I'll have to say they're my new favorite band, which doesn't come lightly.

When I saw this video I had to stop and watch because I knew you'd like this song. If you want more, you have to check out the track Alkaline, it's on their new album. Arguably the best chorus of the year, I love it.

Leprous is a band that's reminiscent to Sleep Token in my opinion. Their live performance of Slave at the Rockefeller Music Hall is amazing! Highly recommend it!

I’ve been listening to Sleep token for a few years now. They are definitely my favorite band. The way he tells the story of heartbreak over and over again and somehow a different way is amazing.

Vessel and the band are from the UK, this style of singing is very common in the UK, check out singers like Sam Smith, Bastille and Biffy Clyro
You should try Blood sport (From the room below), gods, higher, Nazareth, the night does not belong to God, calcutta, the offering, and Dark Signs. They are all stunning, they all build, phenomenal piano, drums, everything is perfect!

Another crazy talented band with such range. Cu there's this and then songs like "the offering" and "hypnosis" that get heavier. I love both sides, however
The drummer sounds like a mix of Mat Garstka style playing and gospel. The singer reminds me of both Ville Valo and Chris from Coldplay if you put them together, weird I know but that’s what I hear lol.
He sounds just like the guy that sings “something just like this” on that chain smokers song.

You should check out 'The Five Hundred'. Really melodic, yet heavy, metal. Huge vocals and great drums. I might recommend the track 'The Rising Tide'.

It’s a love song David, the lyrics are so sweet and a little sad, as some of the best songs are.
I don't think I can recommend Thrice's new song Scavengers enough. The song is about Dustin Kensrue's(the lead vocalist) struggle with getting rid of toxic worldviews, as well as a kind of commentary on the issues in the information age. It's self produced and is a super gnarly, grungy but powerful sound. I think you'd like it a lot.

So I really need you to check out I See Stars. They our one of my favorite bands and not enough people have reaction videos. Murder Mitten, New Demons, running with scissors, so many songs. They are electronic hardcore music.
L does have a pretty unique voice, but he's a big fan of Deftones, always has been, and all the influences for them, like Depeche mode, The Cure and so on, so the distress vocal style can be traced back to Robert Smith for one point of reference, with a few refinements of course, which fits as the band members are all from London.
