They have done the same thing with Vaishno devi. While climbing the hill, I was very happy and thankful that they made the shaded pathways for the devotees. But when i entered the main temple area and garbha griha, my heart sank. Everything is covered with tiles. They have literally covered and insulated the very rocks, the cave walls, the paths which withholds the divine energy. Instead of feeling blessed and happy, I felt the utter sadness and cry of Ma vaishno devi. Such powerful, divine and holy places do not require refurbishments. Now, they want to do the same with Ma Kamakhya. Praying to lord Bhairava to protect us all and Ma Kamakhya to give us strength to fight for you. for ecological conservation issues, she should have been directed to NGT since stakeholders' consultation was not held by PWD for development projects. she could have checked with their tenders as well to know about upcoming projects. incase of externally aided projects, like World Bank/ ADB/ etc. she can directly reach out to them. good to see that she is well read about the policy guidelines by various depts. of course Kamakhya Mandir comes under Spiritual Tourism segment, but to regulate tourist footprint, Carrying Capacity should be considered, and proper route map must be done in CONSULTATION to the stakeholders like community, worshippers, Pujari's, Gitika Madam, etc.

The spiritual practice of Maa Kamakhya temple are not similar to the traditions of mainland India or conventional practices of sanatana Dharma, in Kamakhya temple the traditions and rituals practiced are of Kulachara tantra traditions which requires isolation and nature oriented spots to perform. The Nilachal hills where Maa
Kamakhya temple is located is also surrounded by forest where the tantrics and aghoris live to do their Tantric practices. So it's very much necessary to stop development in the Nilachal hills. Else it would be difficult for them to practice, they have nowhere else to go. Development will interfere the traditions practice since 3000 years.
