    Tip for guys who followed tutorial and got error:
    When importing, choose Binary export format instead of ASCII.
    Then, open Blender and inside go to file -> import -> FBX, chose correct file and when it loads, save it as .blend extension.
    Hope that will work for you as it did for me.

    The title says export to Blender, but you exported to 3D Max. You left it on Ascii, but Blender REQUIRES Binary to import. I get other errors too, but we're not even looking at blender so this tutorial was a complete waste of my time.

      Holy bologna, I can't thank you enough. I'm a total noob when it comes to this stuff. All I wanted to do was take a VRchat model, export it from Unity to Blender, and then export it to an STL for 3D printing. But whenever I imported it into Blender it wouldn't show up. Turns out all I had to do was export it with the binary option and it worked. I'm sure there's probably some other way to do this, but going through unity to blender was the only info I could find on the net. You saved me a heck of a lot of trouble my friend.

      Find the units property under the tab with the cone and sphere icon in Blender (give it a quick google), change Length from Meters to Millimeters, rotate one of your models in Blender -90 on the X axis, apply rotation and scale, rotate back 90 on X but don’t apply. Try exporting that and in the export settings, change Apply Scalings from All Local to Units (or some variation of that? I can’t remember the exact wording for that option but it should have “unit” in it.)

    • @apesosa
      @apesosa 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@_AndrewParker actually i found a better solution. Change the unit scaling to 0.01 in the units property tab and then apply your transforms. Change the clipping distance to proper values and use the unity fbx exporter addon to export it

    This is just what I was looking for. I recently installed an asset pack that requires you to used fbx for some of the things you want to set up. I bought an asset pack in the Unity marketplace but I want to use the assets in Unreal Engine. I asked the seller if they could give it to me for free or sell it to me at a discounted price on the Unreal Engine marketplace but they told me that I could export it and use it in Unreal Engine. Is there a way to bulk export 3d models and their animations/assets so that I can use them in Unreal Engine or Blender. The ultimate goal is to be able to use the assets in Unreal Engine. I was using Unity more at the time but now I'm mainly using Unreal Engine.

    • @SpeedTutor
      @SpeedTutor  ปีที่แล้ว

      You'd most likely want to export the .FBX files from the unity files. Those usually include all models, animations and so on. :) Then import those into your other programs. I can't remember if Unreal requires other exports, but you could also just copy the textures from Unity and use them too. It wouldn't be setup like it is in Unity but you haven't got many options, other than just taking the raw files. :)

      When you opened Unity Hub, you will have chosen "New Project" in the top corner? When the new dialog appears you will have choices. 3D (Built-in) - 3D URP and 3D HDRP. The option by default is 3D built in, the other are the other types of Unity pipelines. They all do a similar thing but they're targeted to different platforms. So Built-in is Unity's most longest standing version, URP is newer and focusing on mobile and lower end hardware. Whereas HDRP is specifically targeting high end PC and consoles. :)
